I'm not saying that Phillips Sims' great character was the determining factor. It could have been Dyer's lack of character that played a bigger part.

Regardless of why he transferred, I'm officially a Wahoo fan for the next couple years. Him pushing AJ for the starting job last year was a big factor in our success as it made AJ a better QB.

Here's the AP story:
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) -- Quarterback Phillip Sims has been granted a waiver to play at Virginia this season.
The school says it was informed by the NCAA of the decision Wednesday.
Sims, who was among the highest rated quarterbacks in the country coming out of Oscar Smith High School in Chesapeake in 2010. He had a 48-4 record and set state records with 10,725 yards passing and 119 touchdown passes.
He played in eight games as a redshirt freshman at Alabama in 2011, then transferred to Virginia in May.
Coach Mike London says he is pleased to have the matter resolved. Sims is expected to be able to compete for the starting job against incumbent Michael Rocco and sophomore dual-threat David Watford.
Sims has three years of eligibility remaining.

I'm really happy for him. As a fan, we could sure use him as a backup this season and as a future starter, but with his type of talent, I can't blame him for wanting to get on the field for live experience. I kind of think he may have the stuff to make it to the league. Will definitely cheer for him. Maybe VA can make it back to the Chik Fil A bowl and he can shred Aubs secondary.
