Tweets are starting to flow that the deal / players have been agreed upon for Atlanta to trade for Justin Upton. Love It...and it does not include Simmons of course. Looks like a good deal for the Bravos....
EDIT - Deal is done....and we know the players now as well. Good Deal for both potentially. To me, great for Atlanta short term and long term. Can't ask for much more than that in a deal of this magnitude. This may bring the best out of both UPTONS and that will be a steal for us if that comes true.

This would be great! Hopefully it goes through.
The players have not been listed yet but its a package built around Delgado from ATL. Looks like, if Peter Gammons has the right guys, Delgado, 2 pitching prospects...and potentially another player or so? I guess we will know soon.
IF its the players being reported - we keep our top 2 pitching prospects in place and get a potential all star to play left field.
Ken Rosenthal @Ken_Rosenthal
#Diamondbacks, #Braves indeed in agreement on Upton trade, pending physicals, as @JonHeymanCBS said.
Kate to play mascot?
I want to see who we gave up, but this just made our line up one of the best in the league.
OK there are two different repots. One has us getting Upton and Chris Johnson (3rd baseman) numbers aren't too shabby....
for - Delgado, Prado, Ahmed and Spruill ???? hmmm well see.
Were we able to resign Michael Bourn? If not, who is going to be our leadoff hitter?
Yep Rosenthal is reporting the Braves get Upton and Chris Johnson. The Dbacks get Nick Ahmed, Delgado, Prado, and Zeke Spruill.

Wow. RT @mlbbowman: Source: Braves get Justin Upton and Chris Johnson from D-backs for Prado, Delgado, Ahmed and Spruill.

to BreakingTheCap - No Bourn is still a free agent and not signed with anyone. There was talk starting to heat up that if this Upton deal didn't get done, atlanta might do a one year deal with Michael to play left - we already have the other Upton bro for center field. But, that's all over now. Outfield is Upton, Upton, and Heyward WOW. Young, speed, and potential power.....
When did Ted Turner come back?
Seriously, this is one bad ass outfield. No excuse for the Braves anymore. There are 6 former all stars on the field with two potentials at SS and 1B. Solid rotation and shut down bullpen. Don't screw it up Fredi!
Don't like that the Bravos gave up Prado.
Nature of the business, but Martin has played his ass of for ATL over the last four years and plays the game the right way. Tough to see him go IMO, but Arizona might be a great place for him to really take over and lead a team.
Chris Johnson....3rd Baseman. And we have to remember as well - Atlanta really likes the future potential of Francisco playing 3rd. Here's a quick bio on CJ though.
The latest stats, facts, news and notes on Chris Johnson of the Arizona Diamondbacks
Hate that Prado is gone but I think its a really good move for the braves...Upton in an off year offers, statistically, the same value as Prado plus 2 more years of control. Johnson and Francisco are cheap and offer a little cash flexibility to lock up some guys and maybe even re-sign Mac which could be a bigger need. No way to know for sure yet but we sure didn't get fleeced here. Plus, we might not have been able to sign Prado either way...and if we somehow find the money too...we could do that after the season anyway...
They both are very streaky hitters. Both show to have good power (JU has more, just not consistent), BJ is a better overall 5 tool player, but Justin Upton has the most upside in a Brave lineup. Jason Heyward will be the most profitably player out of this...putting two right handed hitters around him would be ideal since Heyward hits around 200 vs leftys.
Hey guys - YES the outfields potential is AMAZING. Yes, I hate we had to give up Prado, love me some Martin....but, we got a very serviceable guy back who seems to have potential as well - he hit over .300 one year with Houston. And like I posted above - ATL loves Francisco and he's done well in Winter Ball this year.
The best - We didn't give up our best pitching prospects that was thought to have to be in a deal. Yes, Delgado is in it, but no Teheran, no Graham....which they love his future.
Chris Johnson has some good long term potential. No doubt we will see a platoon at 3rd. Those two together might not hit for much average, put they give you 25-30 HR potential over there.
Chris Johnson is a stud. Raw athlete with an amazing upside at the plate
That's an @**load of strikeouts in the outfield......
If you go an watch tape of Johnson, he looks just like Prado. He is a little bigger, but takes the ball the other way like Prado is known for. Their stats are very close as well.
Buster Olney @Buster_ESPN
Chris Johnson actually was better vs. RHers last year, but could see a Juan Francisco/Johnson platoon at 3B for the Braves.
There are also some reports Drury is being sent to Arizona in the deal. Young guy. I LOVE the deal overall - but its still Potential and we need the Uptons to bring it like their potential says they can.
I agree. I like the kid and this could turn out to be a very nice throw in.
