Agreed I love Prado. However when Francisco started he hit much better, hes just not good off the bench. If career numbers hold true the platoon should hit around 280-300 with a combined 30+ hrs.
Braves wanted to go another route...needed more pop than speed, but got both in BJ Upton for about what Bourn was asking for (which he will not get)
Seems like Andrelton Simmons would be the likely leadoff guy. He did win a batting title in the Carolina league.
May not seem like much to some people since it is the minors, but he was also the only guy in that league that yeat to hit over .300
Was a pitcher driven league, says a lot.
Prado has been my favorite for years but this is a really good deal with the potential to be amazing. The Braves realize how important it is to win the division now, in order to avoid the wildcard play in game. The Upton brothers could push us over the top. I'm guessing the lineup will look something like this:
2. BJ Upton
4. Justin Upton
What do yall think? Maybe BJ hitting leadoff if he cuts down on the strikeouts.
Very true. Plus it was thought that Simmons' Achilles heel was his hitting but he proved that he was more than capable last year. Also he may be the only viable candidate for leadoff. Simmons, Heyward, Freeman, J Upton, Uggla, McCann, Johnson/Francisco, BJ lineup?
