Good morning everyone. There's about a third of the usual gameday foot traffic in front of the stadium. I have a feeling we're going to see some empty seats today.
Christopher Walsh covers Alabama football for BamaOnline, 247Sports, and is the author of 18 books.
I ran into a Western Carolina reporter last night - he was very excited to be here and was amazed by the atmosphere. Hated to tell him, "Dude, this is nothing."
A number of Catamounts are on the field early. Alabama's here. Finally feels like fall -- 58 degrees with a nice wind. Should be around 66 when the game ends.
Beautiful weather today...grass still looks great. (g)

So how long has it been since BDS was not a sellout. Just read on twitter where tickets are still available.
I'm callin' it now. We win today!
If you dreamed you were a sleep and you woke up, would you be awake?
First special-teams players out on the field.
(I'm already looking at the WCU players and saying: "They're so small")
It depends on where the tickets came from. If the tickets were returned by WCU, it'll still count as a sellout.
BTW, student section is empty.
Team's out on the field. Team captains: Eddie Lacy, Jeremy Shelley and C.J. Mosley
Nate McAllister is wearing No. 20 today.
Why you ask? Because they're planning to use him on special teams and can't have two No. 24s on the field at the same time.
Norwood and Bell on the field, both look fine. John Fulton not in uniform.
Did a quick count and WCU has maybe, and I mean maybe, 65 players.
I'm guessing this might be the end of student block seating as we've know it.
I just took this 25 minutes before kickoff: http://instagram.com/p/SI1wpsRyUk/
The stadium is half-full. Yikes.
It was a good thought. It just didn't work as they drew it up. Has to be scratched. 11:00 game against the worst team Bama has played in 50 years one week after a loss...yeah, there will be a ton of empty seats.
It's pick your own section day here at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
Seriously, I'm calling up the A-Day attendance.
If I lived there, I'd be at the game. But you can't play teams like Western Carolina (and I think we should for a scheduling break, so this isn't that old argument) and expect the crowd to be there. I've missed maybe 4 home games since 1992, but I'm not driving 8 hours round trip to see this game knowing I was there last weekend and will be there again next weekend.
