Sounds that way
Literally, no other options. I tried everything but that was the only day it could happen over the past 5 months.
Let me give you the best advice that was given to me before I got married. Set the precedent for your marriage early. Scheduling the wedding during football season is one strike, but you can still turn it around.
As an example, two days after my honeymoon (which was not during football season), I went out with the guys, played cards, drank beer and didn't roll in till 2 a.m. I didn't ask permission, I told her what I was doing, where I was going and who with. Because of that one event, she knows I am going to go hang out with the guys from time to time, but be honest about where and what I am doing. It kills me when i call my married buddies and they have to ask their wife if they can go. If you set the precedent, you tell her you are going and she is fine with it.
Cliff Notes Version: If its something you want to do for the rest of your life without drama, do it early in your marriage so it is the norm.
There's a lot of blood, sweat, and guts between dreams and success.
Dude if she loves you then she can wait until after football season. I see who will be running that marriage. One other thing, you have to think about the guests. Nobody wants to come to your wedding during football season.
