This just reaffirms my thoughts on whether CAG ever had plans to stay here for a long time. Now I know hes committed to building something special. Suspending your 2 most talented players at any point in a season means to me that he's at a desperation point with the leadership of the upperclassmen (still only one senior, JG). Seriously though, I have been hard on JG, but he looks to be slowly grasping the team concept, but not even close to being what a senior "should" be. At least he's improving in that department whereas TM has hit an all time low with his leadership. TM looks like 80% of his playing time he was wishing he was some place else. Well Tony, at your request...here is your time for reflection. I really hope he uses it wisely.
RTR and thank you CAG for finally setting, what I call, the ultimate example for getting the attention of your TEAM.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. It's just that yours is stupid.
If we're going to make it to NCAAs and actually do anything I think we need Tony Mitchell. And I mean the Tony Mitchell from last year and in island tournament that was flying around on offense and defense and having fun playing. Of course he could just quit, but I hope not. Completely agree with Coach Grant to do it like everyone else.
Oh, there Saban goes again....oh wait, its basketball
"Touch that thang four" - Courtney Upshaw
1) I'm happy about this because it's the best thing for Tony, the team, and the overall direction of the program
2) I'm sad about this because you never want to see this happen either to the team, or to the individual. You can place the blame on TM, but it's like disciplining a child. It should be done, but there should be no joy in the consequences. Further, it's detrimental, in terms of options, for a team full of guys that DON'T have an attitude problem. You'd hate his behavior to hurt post-season opportunities for the guys doing all they can.
3) I support Coach Grant fully whether this is short term or long term. I've often said I think I'd have done it earlier, but it's hard to say that when you have less than 10% of the available info to make the decision.
Finally, I think we can play very well without him. It will require an adaptation on our part (much of which is needed anyway) on the offensive end. We've won several games ugly when TM provided a spark here and there to knock the lid off the basket and help us score just enough to win. We have got to be more methodical in working the ball into scoring position rather than just wait til we get a fast break.

Thanks for the heads up guys...I assumed it must have been something off the court. I think we really all saw this coming, but for me the UK game at the end was really when we had something concrete to go on. I was really hoping that sitting to start the Ole Miss game was enough and he gave really good effort when playing. Kids gotta learn to control his temper and just play hard all the time or he won't even end up playing overseas.
Sorry for the BS comment last night. I guess this sucks and doesn't suck all at the same time.
Will he take the grayshirt?
I don't know what happened in the training room, but TM deserves to be suspended for his actions on the bench after returning from the training room regardless. The dark haired, short, assistant that kinda looks like Billy Donavan was on his knees in front of TM talking to him during game action and all of a sudden TM starts flailing his arms and yelling at the coach to the point where JG noticed and got all over TM telling him to cut that shit out. Tony then got up and left but when he came back out a few mins later the attitude was gone. Idk, TM has some issues iyam.

People who are expecting the team to regress initially might be in for a surprise. Lots of times action like this taken by a coach actually lights a fire under a team instead and they end up playing over their heads.
