I give up on the Grant discussions because he will be here through 2014 no matter what. I see some unjustified crticism and also some crimson glasses analysis as well. I fall in the middle and think he gets a pass this year because of Engstrom's injury and Steele's injurieS. I watch our offense and see the same garbage time and time again. Rather than see improvements, we see a team that peeked in January. Tons of symptoms with.this team that cause concern: free throw shooting, turnovers, leadership, and droughts of 8+ minutes.....next year it's do or die, no.more excuses.
There are 14 teams in the SEC and Bama has the 2nd best record. So what do you "fire Grant" guys think should be done with the rest of the SEC coaches? Should 13 SEC coaches be fired? I know the SEC sucks this year but let's be realistic.
Ummm last time I checked not one of them was making 1.9 mil. Grant is not making mid SEC money, he is making top 20 coaches nationally money. Every coach that is on that list is competing for high bids in the NCAA, titles, and so forth. At Alabama it means we are competing for NIT's.

Well, technically, residents and boosters of Alabama are in fact paying the bill, so by that logic, they have every right to complain.

You sound like a typical liberal, always trying to bring race into every discussion.
"Once in awhile you get shown the light in the strangest of places you have to look at it right."
One other thing - according to that USA today link Rick Pitino is making $7.5m per year now, A) how has this not been blasted through the media ala Saban a few years ago, and B) Saban needs a raise, now!
Because football drives the news, and Basketball is the afterthough, until March Madness! Grant is 16 overall in salary I believe. I just don't believe he is near anywhere close to that money value.
I don't understand why you have to bring race into the conversation? I am sitting here reading the board about the lack of performance of the team and coach and the next thing i read is someone saying ," you would't be talking like that if it was a white coach"'. Anyone who would make a comment like that out of thin air must be racist himself because i was thinking that 4 years for a basketball coach to turn around a college program is a life time in today's basketball world. I never even had a thought about the coach's race just his performance. Kentucky recuited a freshmen team and won the NC in one year, grant has had 4 years and he has not done anywhere near what was expected when hired. If Alabama is serious about winning then they need to get a coach like the one at Kentucky. If they never expect to win the NC then keep Grant..
Don't think so, he was 17th overall in the tournament last year, and that wouldn't include Anderson and Martin. He is slightly above middle of the pack in the SEC
The problem is simple.....he is a lazy recruiter who not only does not recruit to need but can't even fill out a roster of scholarship players after four years. It is like he has put us on probation unilaterally. I want CAG to succeed as I love BB but just cannot understand on any level how you let scholarship roster spots go vacant after FOUR years! I have NEVER heard of a competent Division 1coach do that, much less one who makes 1.8M per year.
