Assuming that Big Fluke heads to the NFL, seems wide open on who replaces him.
Of the guys currently on roster, Shepard gets the most talk at RT.
Leon Brown seems to be assumed to step in but i also have read that he's raw.
Tunsil would compete if he rolls with Tide
Question- why is AK not an option here? He has very similar measurables to CyKo. What makes AK more of a prospect at Guard, while his "little" bro is a Tackle?
Yes - I'm a bit limited in my OL evaluation skills.
As an aside, it would be kinda cool to have the two brothers as bookends
I agree, we have had the Hannah brothers,Britts, etc, the Koundjio brothers would be cool, but dont sleep on Austin Shepherd, think he could be a Drew Davis kinda guy if given a chance.
My opinion on this matter is based on little observation so take it with a grade of saw.
IMO AK doesn't have the feet or length of CK. CK is really the protype for an LT IMO. He is long, lean yet very strong at the point of attack. Having watched AK a little he doesn't seem to have those same characteristics. He does seem to lock onto defenders well and that would best serve him as an interior OL. JMO based on a small sample of AK.
Good obs. Thx
I always love to see the blue collar guys work their way into starting positions as upper classmen when starting vacancies open. But you would have to assume that bringing in LB from JUCO leans to us not having a locked in guy at RT. interesting battle lining up for LG though. Hope AK get the nod. Would be cool to see brothers starting beside each other. We could either run right, up th middle, or Kouandjio.

Never Gets Old
I'm not sure it is any indication of RT in general just a need for more OL period that can play.
Brown is more a LT anyway which means he may be able to help this year somewhere (possibly RT) and then flip to LT once CK leaves. I have actually liked what I have seen from Shepherd so if Brown can take over RT he may be the answer at guard. Brown just gives us depth and options IMO. Plus he has bigtime NFL talent so a team would be crazy not to takee him.
