We will miss 3 OL, and that cant be overlooked. I do feel that with recruiting and coaching, we can at least a very solid group. AJ comes back, and he may be the best ever at alabama. Lacy, Yeldon, and Fowler come back. Add to that, Drake and other possible freshmen. WR will be just nasty. We will have speed and size.
My only concern is TE. Outside of Williams, we dont seem to have anyone stepping up. OJ is very talented but he will also be a true freshmen.
Are we 100% sure Lacy's coming back? Either way, we'll be stacked as all get out at RB w/ Dee & Nudie coming back and all the young bucks in the 2013 class.
IMO if Lacy left he would not be drafted.
McShay has him at #5 RB
Last I saw one of the ESPN guys had Lacey as the 5th best back and probably to go in rounds 2-4 I think.
CBS though has him as the best back and a 2nd round pick.
I'm not an expert though.
I think losing 3 outstanding OL's and expecting the O to be better is a stretch. Could happen but unlikely.
We will have better play makers next year, but the O-Line is going to take a hit for sure.
Yes if we keep fluker will help. But 3 interiors is intense at once. I think OJ will be great at H but blocking TE not sure. Games won and lost at the front lines. Any JC OL in mix? Anyone on 2nd team have real
Agree. I think we will see some growing pains along O line early in season.
Nope. No offense, but most fans just do not appreciate the big uglies enough and focus on the skill players. We will be good, but hard to imagine new players opening the holes Jones, Warmack and Fluker open. Not to mention just how good Williams is at TE and we do not know have another dominant tight end to replae him.
Still think we will be very good next year, but I think the team you see in the National Championship game will be the best offensive team ever at Bama.
not an "insider" at all but have heard all year from someone fairly close to AJ and his family that he's more than likely headed to the NFL.
again, TFWIW.......just relaying what I've consistently heard from this person.....and I've asked regularly
BUT.....I'm sure it all depends on where he's projected......lots of good QBs will be n the draft this year
I agree with this. It's what separated our team from the pack in 09, 11, and now 12.....well, that and a #1 defense, but I think we'll be Top5 or at least Top 10 while Saban is here! To me, this year's offense is the best I've seen at Alabama.
They say the juco OL from NY is supposed to be special. If Fluker stays, Arie helps out, and hopefully one on the TEs in waiting steps up big to step into MW's place.
Replacing a line and team leader with smarts like BJ will be tough though, IMHO.
