Figured I'd bite off the idea in the Tenpenny thread and create 1 thread with highlights of our 3 RB commits, in order of commitment.

2013 RB Derrick Henry 2012 season highlights
BBD.....how fast is Henry? He looks significantly faster in that film than previous film. I'm impressed with how Henry has "cleaned up" his running style. My main complaint with him last year was hed dance too much. Now he's obviously getting north south in a hurry and using his size. He has an Erik Dickerson-esk type stiff arm. Man that's gotta be like getting hit with a telephone pole lol.
As for Tyren it's rare to say its fun watching film. He's the most game ready back I've seen on film that's come to Bama since I've really watched recruiting with the 07 class. Kid could be incredibly special and I really wish he were an EE. I think he'd be #2 behind Yeldon if he were.
Altee is Altee. His feet have gotten a little quicker in the hole. He's gained some mass. Looks plenty healthy and runs hard. These 3 guys will make breaking in a QB fun. After this year 7 yards and a cloud of dust might be the name of our team lol.
You'll never achieve great things until you believe that's what's supposed to happen
Oh I love Kenyan as a back. I finally got my country loving uncle to call him Drizzy when referencing him lol. I could see Kenyan being the #2 guy this year bc I think the same thing that plagued him (blocking/blitz recognition) will slow Henry down. Talent wise I think Tyren is as game ready as they come but it will hurt him coming in the summer. With Dee being tentative the first part of last year with the first knee injury I don't see him being confident enough on this injury to take over the new guys. Blake Sims isn't a RB threat to the talent we've brought in. Jalston is our HBack and splits time with Calloway. New RB 4 headed group is Yeldon/Drake/Jones/Henry with Altee either reupping with Beliema or taking a RS next year.
Good grief Tyren Jones is a stud. I had to watch his highlight reel twice. What a playmaker.
I think I've watched every highlight film there is of TJ, AT and DH. I am amazed every time. When Coach Saban took over he started an unprecedented flow of top notch running backs. I dare say no other team has ever had this many studs, one after another. I remember before Coach Saban arrived we would have one or two at the most. If you think about next year, it's just amazing. Lacy will probably be gone but lets say he decides to stay.
Are you freaking kidding me!!
Assuming that Lacy leaves for the NFL, Yeldon will be the lead TB going into the Spring. This will be followed by 2) Drake, 3) Fowler and 4) Henry. Of course, if Fowler is not ready, just move Henry up.
In the Fall, the order will shake out something like this, based on groupings:
GROUP A: 1) Yeldon 2) Drake 3) Tenpenny --- Pure RBs
GROUP B: 1) Fowler 2) Henry 3) Callaway --- Power backs and H-Back roles
GROUP C: 1) Hart 2) Jones 3) Kamara --- All-Purpose Backs w/ special pkgs & threats that must be accounted for
Callaway (H-Back) and Sims (Dual-QB) need to really step it up this Spring. There is a tremendous opportunity there for them to contribute significantly for ALABAMA. If they commit to the things needed to improve and gain the trust of the staff, the offense becomes dangerous and multi-dimensional.
Hart and Fowler must overcome significant injuries. But, if they do, there will be a role for each.
The true freshman will play in various situations and based upon their ability to demonstrate that they can be trusted to block and secure the football. I do believe that Coach Saban is looking to play everyone of those RBs.
When Drake corrects whatever issues the Coaches have with blocking, ball security and maturity, he will be the BEST RB home-run threat on the team. His physical & mental development from January-April will culminate with multiple A-Day awards (Dixie Howell MVP & Most Improved RB).
Tenpenny will be the next Richardson and Lacy type of RB.
Tyren Jones will be the most electrifying RB in the mold of an Ingram with much more speed and elusiveness. When he hits the hole, he already knows where to cut and avoid tacklers on the next 2 levels.
Hart will be a change of pace RB, PR/KR and dagger to opposing teams on third downs.
WILDCARD: Alvin Kamara will be the RB that the team needed B.Sims to be. Kamara will allow B. Sims to be a full-time QB. You line KAMARA up in the backfield or slot, motion him into various sets and place him in the Wildcat formation.
Bump for later
Nice post. Great idea for a thread.
