On April 15th, 247Sports will be releasing Player Database 2.0. With the release, we are introducing 8 new products to the recruiting product line. We expect the Crystal Ball to be the most anticipated and favorite product of the release.
With the Crystal Ball version 1.0, 247Sports national and team site recruiting reporters will make their predictions on where they believe prospects will ultimately sign. In addition, we are inviting all other recruiting experts from other networks, newspapers and media to participate if they wish. They Crystal Ball will show (1) individual analysts predictions and a (2) cumulative prediction from the entire group of analysts. In version two we will allow users to make predictions for their message board reputations.
Today, Noah and the 247Sports dropped a nice little surprise and extension to the product. They now added the ability for users to see (1) all of the predictions FOR a specific product and (2) all the predictions from a specific recruiting analyst. (see images)
Again, we are very excited about this product because we believe it cuts through the noise and helps answer one of the two primary questions that users have in the recruiting cycle. "Where are they going?"
Coming April 15th. The next generation Player Database.

LOVE IT......and yes I screamed it on purpose. O and how fun will it be seeing how many times the teams logo changes the final few weeks of the recruiting cycle for some players
Still love it, even though we will also get the normal he has no clue what he's talking about because that prediction isn't my team post.

Thanks, Lucky! This will be a great feature. If we can see all of the predictions by a specific analyst across all 247 sites, we'll need some kind of "delusional homer" award for the analyst who picks most recruits to choose their school but is wrong on most of them. Should be fun!
Will it show how often they make a correct prediction?
Not on the 15th, but we will show that near signing day. We are keeping the predictions and the date of the predictions (the data). Recruiting Analysts will receive points for predictions. We will have to figure that formula out later in the year. One thing to remember ... Recruiting Analysts can NOT delete their predictions. They can change them before the fact, but they can NOT delete out bad predictions.
"We're modern-day gladiators, and that mental toughness is really important to have in a good team." Nick Saban
"We have an opponent in this state that we work every day, 365 days a year, to dominate."
So if an analyst predicts wrong, will it give them negative points? Like if JC predicted a recruit a year from now, he would get 365 positive points(one point per day) and if he predicted wrong a year in advance, would he lose 365? Or, does picking wrong have a negative impact?
Thanks! Very excited about that, should be fun to watch. I saw you opened this up to other network analysts, have you had a good response on that yet?
Point system is not worked out right now.
We will take all of the data from all of the analysts and their predictions and redos. We will analyze those trends after next NSD and create a formula. We could create a formula with this release, but would have no way to check against it -- there's no data.
Right now, its about giving you guys our best guess on where players are going. We will probably use the same point system for users when we release that part of the product next spring.
