Save money by walking a few hundred yards down wire road and roll the fencing for Saturday night's date pool.
I heard it would be a giant toilet to replace the trees.

The Dynasty is Here!
This says about all you need to say about Auburn (the university and city) and its fans:
The city will install three concrete poles and string wires between them to catch toilet paper fans traditionally rolled the oak trees with.

They're replacing the trees with quickcrete and a clothesline ?
I think this is AU's adminstration saying, we privately did not like the rolling tradition, it made us look like rednecks. But now that the trees have died, we can finally kill this stupid tradition without getting blamed for it by not getting Disney to put up a nice fake tree, but rather put up a couple of ugly concrete poles with wires to encourage AU nation to stop rolling at Toomer's Corner.
Wow...that idea is worse then I could have possibly imagined. Which makes it equally hilarious. I can't see any barn fan being happy with that. I'm going to guess that after the uproar, we never actually see these fancy clotheslines.
It's not the will to win, but the will to prepare to win that makes the difference.

I applaud their optimism about actually getting to roll it this season.
