Just good enough to keep a game close and get your hopes up, only to blow a lead, go on a scoring drought of 5 or more minutes, and take shots that make you want to throw up. Offense is horrendous
If a team can just stay within 15 points with about 10 minutes left we will fall apart and loose the game. Happened multiple times this year.
Pitiful basketball at times...can we use the excuse we are young? Lol RTR!
Yea, I almost hate to watch them play because I know how agonizing it is every time that I get my hopes up with them
Just wasted 3 hours of my Saturday. Thank God for Bama football
Watching them is excruciatingly frustrating. They seem to be so close to a complete team, but are just missing something. Its really painful to watch them be so close to a really good team, but just fall short.
Couldn't agree more Adam. They show flashes of greatness but they also show flashes of a something similar to a jr high ball team
Sounds a lot like the shula days. You just wonder how you're going lose the whole time.
That's y I never cut it on. If we win great if not then I'm not worked up about it. Until we develop an offensive scheme we will always lose in big games. Can't win by throwing up crap BC of the shot clock no matter how much home cooking is in their house.
Give me a new coach or new players with better shooting, either or both would be ok
Absolutely, up by 7 with over 9 minutes left I never got too excited, but then again if we were up by 7 with :30 left I would be sweating bullets. No one on the team wants to take the shot except for releford and lacy. Jacobs put the ball on the floor too much and besides the one spin move just tried to bulldoze a bigger young all day
What really bothered me was two separate occasions we failed to even get a shot off before the clock ran out. Once before halftime with :05 left and again coming out of a timeout with :04 left on the shot clock. That's coaching
Can you say Mike Shula!
Grants not going anywhere
Garbage is what it is
Mike Shula coached a program that should be in the top 10 year in and out. Bama Bball is the equivalent of North Carolina football. Grant has done an excellent job and were lucky to have him
So Shane, you are telling me that Alabama bball's max is winning 20 games and getting ousted 1st round? That's bs. Gottfried at least had us #1 at 1 point and made a run in the tourney so I know we are capable of more
I've withheld my comments on Grant bc I know he needs to time to recruit, adjust, find some good help.....whatever other excuses ppl want to use. Time is up w me.
It's hard to play against the team, crowd and refs. W got hit on every defensive possession it seemed in the first 10 of the second half, and they mugged us with no calls. I understand home cooking but it rarely applies when we are he home team and I resent seeing it applied at other venues when we don't get the same benefit. Those early second half calls absolutely affected our style of play on both ends, making us less aggressive defensively and afraid to go to the basket in fear of a player control foul.
Still, in a neutral venue, we can beat these guys. That is the moral victory that can pay dividends if we can get the right pairing and get to play them on Sunday at the SEC tournament. Our team is playing much better than we did in January.
To answer the question ab RUTGERS, yes if schianno hadn't left and the big east stayed the way it was.
And by no means am I being a fair weather fan. Grant is doing an average job, and if rather be us than auburn w tony barbee but I believe whole heatedly that we are capable of more
