I just heard him on ESPN whining about Bama always recruiting the best players and it is hard to beat somebody with the best players at every position, sniff sniff!!!
He isn't lying.
Facts are facts
Never Gets Old
Isn't this the way he won at Florida?
Yeah he is a whiner, but i'm more tired of our fans whining about even the smallest conceivable slight to the Bama program. You know that not everyone is a Bama fan, right?
Pretty sure he beat us the last time his team played us.
Deep down Steve is sorry he left the Gators years ago for his failed bid at the NFL, with all the high school stars in Fla he could be in the same place that Saban is in, playing for NCs almost every year.
exactly...is it not the whole point in recruiting to sign the best players? Like I said I have always liked Spurrier but can't help but notice how much he whines about Alabama no matter the topic...today it was recruiting.
and we must continue to pray for those who are less fortunate
This is almost exactly right. Steve never has been a real strong recruiter, but if he was still at UF the talent would pile in to him on repuation alone.
Hmmm...what exactly does he think he had when he was at UF?

Hey guess what Ole Ball Coach? You have the same opportunity to go out and get the same level of players. If you don't, its no ones fault but your own.
Poor pitiful ball coach and USCe. Can't compete with the big boys. -

Apples and oranges.
He has Clowney, we don't. Think Clowney > anyone we have at Rush end.
Not our fault.
He's a tired act plain and simple. I don't care for any coach who always talks about other teams and coaches and not enough about what he can do. If he ever gets an SEC ring with USCe we should all look out because he will pat himself on the back till the day he dies.

Spurrier is a whiny smartass that happens to be a good football coach. He's done a great job at South Carolina taking them to 11 wins two straight years. Why take jabs at other schools ? Be happy and shut up.
Actually, it IS our fault. But I'm not apologizing for it.
Maybe I should whine about Steve Spurrier having alot more money than me. We are both supposedly playing on an equal playing field...right?
I think his "whining" is partially in jest. I actually find him quite entertaining, just don't take him very seriously other than when he's on the sidelines... actually he's pretty funny then too come to think of it.
As to his assertion, it's 100% correct. Of course he could close some of that recruiting gap if he hit recruiting as hard as CNS does and spent a little less time on the golf course. But he's not going to do that at this stage of his career. It is what it is...
