Amari Cooper closing in on Julio's freshman receiving yards record and total reception record. Julio finished 2008 with 58 receptions for 924 yards and 4 TD's
Cooper currently has 53 grabs for 895 yards and 9 TD's
With 1 more receiving TD he will tie Al Lary's 1950 record for receiving TD's in a single season
His 895 yards this season has him currently 6th all time at Bama in receiving yards in a season
He 239 yards away from breaking the all time single season receiving yards record
Needless to say, Ole' Coop is having a monster year and I am proud as heck of the kid.
Its great to see all the pre season hype come true.
Kid is an unreal talent, and i cant realy put a finger on who he reminds me of. Been trying to do that all year.
A more athletic Prothro?
Cooper has proven to be one of the most college ready wide receivers that I have been able to watch. He does everything that you want a wide out to do and he has a chance to leave the capstone with every receiving record in the book...he is a special talent.

I don't think so. Amari has everything you look for in a WR besides about an extra inch or two in height. Protho was limited on many fronts and didn't have a lot of NFL potential.
on TOS they have cooper listed for 1,116 receiving yards. 69 receptions and 12 tds.
Does he win the Blittenkoff(sp?) Next year?
Question for staff or anyone else who knows: What is the source of Coop's technical skill, HS coaching, a gift, both? If coaching, any chance of getting back in it with Burns and do they have any other kids of note upcoming?
Not sure where they got those stats from, but I pulled straight from NCAA.org. See link below
Amari Cooooooooooooooooooooooper !!!!
He personally reminds me of AJ Green. He is one of the most techinically smooth route runners I have seen in a while. Combine that with his speed and hands made of glue and you cannot cover him one on one and he beats a double team 9 times out of 10.
He looks like Larry Fitzgerald the way he goes up and takes the ball from the defender at its high point.
"The (All In) Family"
I think bowties stats are correct but regardless coop is big time talent.
He did all that without starting the first four games of the season, missing most of the LSU game and half the miss st game. The kid is a beast.
