Don't celebrate Christmas. Don't want to get into a religious debate on here. But my beliefs are to commemorate Jesus Christ life that he gave for us, once a year, and try to imitate his example/remember him all the time.
But we still enjoy the time off from work/school and being able to get together with friends and family because of be extra time :)
Same here Reddog, mom has been gone 6 weeks and I miss her so much. We'll get through it though. Merry Christmas and God bless you and yours
Much love out to everyone on the board. Christian, Muslim, Jew or atheist and anything in between.
Jesus is the reason for the season.
Merry Christmas & RTR!
Im sorry to hear that. If it weren't for the birth of baby jesus, we wouldnt have the chance for eternal life. Merry Christmas! Hope you have a great day and jesus can touch your heart soon.
If you are not the only one, I am on the wrong board....
I haven't celebrated since I was 12 because we were poor, later I just didn't care. This year (I'm 26) is the first time since and it's only for my niece and nephew. I drove a thousand miles to Kansas and it was absolutely worth it.
I'm Jewish by birth non-religious by choice. I am single and no kids. I work two jobs to rake in as much dough as I can while I am young and single and one of which is at a place open on all holidays so I am working today.
Nothing wrong with this.
Idols and the True God
Jeremiah 10:1-5 (KJV)
(1) Hear ye the word which the Lord speaketh unto you, O house of Israel:
(2) Thus saith the Lord, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them.
(3) For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe.
(4) They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not.
(5) They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also is it in them to do good.
I will pray for you in hopes that before the end of your time you will come to know Christ, so you can know his glory and love rather than suffer for the rest of time (eterally)! God bless you,
We'd never force you to take up our beliefs... only encourage. Do with that what you will... I still wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, brotha!
Oh I like it when ppl wish me one. I just don't celebrate it.
That's cool, man.
It's crazy that people downvote you because you don't celebrate Christmas. Christianity isn't about putting people down that don't share their beliefs... Neither is Christmas.
I'd hate to live in a place where i'd be looked down upon for not celebrating Ramadan or Kwanzaa. (to name a couple)
Love you all, cheers!
Amen to this.
Christmas is a celebration of God sending his son for all. Jesus made the ultimate sacrifice on the cross for all of us. Christmas is a celebration of Christ's birth. He was born to a humble couple in the lowliest situation. God does not have pretense. God's message is clear and simple, yet the ultimate gift.
Merry Christmas to all of you! May this year give you peace and joy no matter what the hurdles of 2012 may be……
and of course, Roll Tide!
Well i personally think Christianity and substantially all other religions are born of and generally promote counterproductive petchulant nonsense destroying progress and causing insane behavior for thousands of years. That's only my opinion.
That said I enjoy the tradition of getting together with family and swapping presents. So Happy Holidays to all.

I promise you if you will forget about religion and have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, you will change your mind. Peace of God to you sir!
I was raised Christian, but became an atheist in my mid 20's. Although Christmas is considered to be a religious day, it still only matters what it means to each person. It is a family day for me. I got up this morning and went to my sister's house to watch my 2 nephews smile and laugh as they open their presents. That is what the day is to me. I appreciate when someone wishes me a Merry Christmas, as they are only saying they hope I enjoy the day. I respect what it means to Christians. Regardless of your beliefs, I wish you all a Merry Christmas. I hope it is a special day for you in some way, and that you get to enjoy it with your family. And uh......Roll Tide!
Fun little read about the history surrounding Christmas: http://www.history.com/topics/christmas
Its' roots and dates were chosen to make it blend with other pagan winter celebrations to enhance its' adoption. The "American" flavor has strong roots with Washington Irving and Charles Dicken's literary classics and has evolved to make it a truly multi-cultural holiday such that we all could come together in peace and happiness. Merry Chrismas to everyone no matter which religious preference! ;-)
Mark 7:5-9 (KJV)
5 Then the Pharisees and scribes asked Him, "Why walk not thy disciples according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with unwashen hands?"
6 He answered and said unto them, "Well hath Isaiah prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written: This people honoureth Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me."
7 "And in vain do they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men."
8 "For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men - the washing of pots and cups, and many other such like things ye do."
9 And He said unto them, "Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition."
