They are currently #56 and ranked last in the SEC.......I know they have never recruited particularly well compared with other SEC schools but that is bad news for CBB and his first year. I know he has a shortened recruiting season but there are a few teams with new coaches as well and he is dead last....
Arkansas is a tough gig, not a strong instate recruiting base, and you're closer to Kansas and Missouri than you are the fertile recruiting grounds of Texas and Louisiana.
Arkansas has some nice prospects committed like TE Hunter Henry and QB Austin Allen, but it doesn't help that John L. Smith was a lame duck coach for much of the season, where many other programs that had coaching turnover didn't really have that problems. Tough sell recruits on the future as an interim HC for that long a period, coupled with the particularly rough start to the season.

Petrino was a horrid recruiter that ruined relationships long term, but got some kids due to the flash of his offensive prestige. Johnelle came in and ruined that prestige. CBB has neither old relationships nor recent success nor name recognition to draw on. He (and possibly his successors) will really have to struggle until there is some success generated.
TRADITION IS THE FOUNDATION GREAT PROGRAMS ARE BUILT UPON.
