How many times have I been to Citi Field: 11.
Find it hilarious when they take over Turner field. It's pathetic that the Mets of all teams can do that. "All the Mets fans assumed they would lose and weren't surprised when they did." - yeah, so? When did I say that all of these fanbases are delusional and always expect to win. I'm used to the Mets performing well and then tanking on a consistent basis.
When did anyone say anything about Chipper Jones being excited to meet me? Did I say that I expected him to be? That would be awkward, acting excited about meeting someone he never heard of before. It's one thing to be cordial, it's another thing to not be.
However, he can do a tad bit better than being a total tool to a bunch of 8 year old kids and making them all cry. That was the 2nd time I met/encountered Chipper Jones. Can't believe he did that to those kids. The "photo" he took with those kids looks like a prison photo. Also refused to sign autographs for the kids unless they paid his agent for a baseball at $40/pop. This wasn't an expo or trade show... this was 10 kids and Chipper Jones...one on one.
Spare me the "low life" talk. Everything I said about the Braves is true. Turner, Cox, Attendance, Support and Chipper. If i'm wrong, please correct me...bro.
You are wrong.
Not sure why you assume that because Cox and Turner are gone that the Braves will never be successful again. what is that based on?
This just in. Mets haven't won a World Series since 1986. Braves won one in 1995.
So...by your logic...Since Dwight Gooden, Darryl Strawberry, and Keith Hernandez left, the Mets will never be successful again.
Don't try to put Citi Field on any level with an elite atmosphere.
And by the way...Fredi Gonzalez looks like Connie Mack compared to Terry Freakin' Collins. What a joke.
Questions: Who managed Maddux, Glavine, Smoltz, Murphy? Who owned the team when those 4 played?
- Thought So -
Bobby Cox was one of the greatest coaches in the game, and Turner was also one of the best owners. The Braves wouldn't be anywhere for those 2. The Braves wouldn't be "nationalized" if it wasn't for Turner.
Been to Cooperstown numerous times. No need to go "in the next 7-10 years."
Please keep trying to diminish my baseball knowledge to make me yourself feel better.

Cox and Turner were great.
But you act like that's the only good things the Braves have had. That's simply not true.
Did you seriously just try to compare World Series Championships between the Mets and Braves? That's lame, but I'll play. The New York Mets have more 2 World Series Rings... the "Atlanta" Braves have 1.
I find it hilarious that you're not giving as much credit to Turner and Cox. Turner nationalized the Braves. Turner put them on TV. Turner built them a stadium. Turner put up the money to get your big players in the early 90s to eventually win a world series. What have you guys done since Ted Turner's departure? 2 Wild Card Trips to the postseason. Big Woop. The Cincinnati Reds have done that much. No NL East championship, No NL Pennant, No World Series trips.
I. AM. Right.
When did I every say that? Please show me....
Here is my direct quote:
"The two best things that ever happened to the Braves (Ted Turner and Bobby Cox) are gone. They'll never have it as good as they had it when they were around."
Look, I may hate the Braves, but I'm not some idiot stupid homer who's obsessed with my own team. I give credit where it's due. The Braves have had many great players come through the organization and they had special years in the early 90s and were a dominant force in the early 00s. Aaron was a brave. Loved Glavine, Smoltz and Maddox. Loved Blauser, Nixon, Gant, Justice...all those guys.
I'm just telling you, the new Atlanta Braves organization, in my opinion, is a step down from what it once was.
From players, to the owner, to the attendance... it's a step down. I'm done.
Good luck to the Braves in the playoffs. I hope they lose, but hey...you've done much better than my awful mets.

you. are. wrong.
You were trying to say that the Braves would never be successful again without Ted Turner or Bobby Cox.
the Mets haven't won a World Series since 1986. How old were you then?
by your logic...the Mets will never have success again since the departure of Strawberry, Gooden, and Hernandez.
Doesn't make any sense, right?
I love Cox and Turner. They did great things. I'm not taking any credit from them.
I'll be the first to tell you...I would love for Turner to be the owner of this team.
But still think we can be successful without them.
The one game playoff scares me to death. I think any one in MLB can beat anyone on a given day.
But if the Braves win that game, anything can happen.
You just re-posted the same thing you posted 18 minutes ago.
1986. Mets World Series - A long time ago.
1995. Braves World Series - A long time ago.
1992. Alabama National Championship - A long time ago
Championships are championships. Who cares about dates.
I'm done. Read my reply above yours. Good luck to the Braves.
that's fine. Roll Tide!
we'll see what happens. I love the MLB playoffs! Always fun to watch.
This one game playoff scares me to death. Braves could be out as soon as they are in.
Just for the record, If I had a vote, I would probably vote for R.A. Dickey for Cy Young. Course it helps that we're both from Nashville.
I really would change managers though. Not a big believer in Collins. Was impressed with Harvey though. He started one of the games i was there.
Mets have some talent.

You lose credibility when you talk in absolutes. Don't see how ANY team can be jealous of the Braves? Not even the Mariners or Royals? How about the Rockies? Maybe Tampa Bay?
They'll never have it as good? Never's a long time. I once thought there would never be another basketball player as good as Michael Jordan.
You want to compare Turner to Fenway, Yankee Stadium, and Busch? I don't think any Braves fan who has ever been to Busch will pretend that the Turner Field crowd is better. Cards fans are well known as being probably the most knowledgeable and enthusiastic fan base there is. A sea of red every night.
As far as "envying" Chipper Jones, most fans have the ability to admire an athlete while looking past their flaws. Or, to put it another way...
Do you admire Bear Bryant?
You pick out perhaps the three best franchises of all time and extrapolate that to mean that no one should envy the Braves? Not even the Astros? How about the Padres? Blue Jays?
Cubs games more exciting? Maybe...if you're an opposing fan eager to see what new level of ineptitude the Cubs can sink to.
Come on, man. Surely you're smarter than this post. Or maybe not.

You talk about me losing credibility and being smarter than what I post, but you make a beyond moronic statement like the one above.
And no I don't think low level teams are jealous of mediocre teams. They want to be like the greats. You don't want to be West Virginia...you want to be Alabama.
So you're telling me that sitting in the bleachers at Wrigley taking in a cubs game doesn't compare to watching a game at Turner Field? Yeesh.
Thank you and Roll Tide! Enjoyed the discussion. RA has been such a surprise, but you're right...It's a shame we can't do anything with the talent we have. It's been a rough few years!
Good luck to your braves...but not too much luck.
