William Ming, Chris Bonds, Tana Patrick, Jonathan Atchinson are considering moving on to life outside of football. No final decisions have been made.
"The (All In) Family"
Good luck to them if true. Hasn't Kellen Williams graduated too?
I thought Tana Patrick was scheduled to play quite a bit or even compete for a starting job per Kirby's PC?
Talked to Tana at the A&M basketball game and he did not indicate anything other than he was ready to contribute next year. Talked about how he started the off season program the day after they got back form Miami even though the team didnt start back until last Tuesday. I know how this works though and it wouldnt suprise me. Hate to see a kid kinda forced out when he still wants to play.
I don't think Patrick is going anywhere, should be in rotation this season.
Yeah. It's ginger-culling/barner meltdown season again.
first two are graduating will probably move on. the other two I'm not sure about
Coach Smart doesnt seem to think Tana is going anywhere but hopefully on the field more. Once again though I could see where this could happen but based on my conversation with Tana I cant see this being what he would want.
Tana has grown a lot and has gotten better every year, but in the last two months he has really picked up so much," Smart said. "He is playing much better, and I think he is a potential guy to start next year. I may have said the same thing about him last year, but I know I didn't have the same conviction I have now. He has really grown as a player.

If they have already gotten their degree i wouldnt have any problems with it. Some players just do not live up to the hype but they were able to get a full ride for 4 years to get a dang good degree. So it could be time to move on.
Had high hopes for Tana and do hope he sticks around as i thought he would be a big contributor this year.
Coaches like Tana. He's not a fluid, double cut type of athlete, but he is a good one cut athlete that can make plays now that he has years of experience and coaching.
I have no knowledge that he is leaving or staying, but I have discussed him and they are high on what he can/could give this team.
Just an fyi.

Tana was close this year. He has all the tools from a physical standpoint. If the light can shine brighter he can be a big contributer this fall.
Name one player who has ever been forced out at Bama that wasn't due to behavior/discipline issues? A lot of guys who sign with Bama are not expecting to end up in the NFL, and they simply want their degree. Once they graduate, it's entirely up to them whether they want to play football for another year.
If tana is the best player he will play, if he can contribute in other areas he will, it is that simple. You don't force out the starting LB
I remember him always being on the field in Goal Line or Short yardage situations, because he is physical
Maybe before Saban this was the case, but I guarantee you >90% of the kids that sign with Bama (that means they have a football scholarship) are here to get to the NFL. Which is why getting kids to the league is a huge part of our recruiting pitch.

Don't think Tana is going anywhere; he made some big special teams plays for us and his knowledge of system helps, especially if he end up needing to play, but he does a nice job with younger guys in trying to mentor them. Very unselfish young man.
As for the others, it wouldn't surprise me as I believe they all have their degrees.
"You don't always get what you want, but you always get what you deserve"
One more thing about Tana - having a strong SR on defense is a big plus and something Saban has utilized year after year. Reamer was a great example of this in 2009 -
But we will lose a few guys - and they deserve a lot of respect for busting their asses for their time on the team.
I highly doubt this is the case
i would think that wilson love and anthony orr would be processed as well...maybe even one of jabriel washington/bradley sylvie if they get jumped by a younger corner when football starts back
Did not say he would be forced out. Just said from my convresation with him their is no way he is ready to leave. JMO.
