Say it ain't so!
There's a lot of blood, sweat, and guts between dreams and success.
Nooooooo! Anywhere but The Barn
god i hope this is just for a pay raise
He wouldn't take it
^^^ This. Why on Earth would be even consider going there?
Isnt PM the one that said Charlie strong interviewed there and Strong denyed it.
Want someone there I can hate,,,,can't hate on Kirby, but please no !
Looking at the first few comments it doesn't seen the aubs are too excited either.
Gotta give the aubs something to chew today.
Not saying he wouldn't take a 3mil a year job but I think he knows if he takes that job he's playing a risky game with his career.
Hoping its just for the pay raise. I mean would he really want to directly compete with the juggernaut he helped to create?
Due Diligence by all parties involved???
ETA: What I mean is, Auburn is searching for a Head Coach, so the best Assistant Coach in America has to get an interview, especially when he is in state...
Kirby is due for a head coaching position, so if an SEC school wants to talk to you, then its a no brainer to go and sit down with them. It also reminds all the other programs with openings at the top know that you are ready to make a move for the right situation.

No way I think he would but if Kirby went to Auburn he is instantly on the s**t list. Hate wouldn't even be the word.
no, it was goldberg.
I am going to assume its true. CKS deserves a head job somewhere sooner than later. He's probably doing the interview to practice and gain experience for when he interviews with a university that has a real football program.
PM is trying to take some luster off of the SEC championship win. Masters at media marketing you know.
I can't remember if it is common for coordinators to interview publicly prior to a bowl game? Seems like a distraction.
I was afraid of this.
As much as I can't stand the thought of it, you can't really blame a guy for wanting to at least interview. I'm sure he's had guidance from Saban. He can Infiltrate the internal workings of the barn/meet with the leaders and see what they've got and report back to CNS. He can also ask them about NCAA problems, etc and just find out about "Pat Dye's" uh, well, uh interference, etc...and thus report back.. I have a feeling it's gonna be Malzahn vs Petrino...have no real clue though.
I can't imagine Kirby would go there, especially, if there were NCAA probable sanctions...surely not. However, stranger things have happened.

Coach Mac was already named head coach for Colorado State before the BCS Championship game.
Surely CNS would highly advise him different. I can understand wanting a head coaching job but that place is in a mess.
The tin foil is strong with this post.
I wish Kirby would take a job outside the SEC. I would hate to have to root against him, he has been a great coach for us for so many years. I hope we can give him a raise and hold onto him. If he were to go, what move do we make as far as DC is concerned?
It was mentioned before on here but I think NC St. might be a good first job for him. He'd be able to recruit his normal areas, he's away from the SEC, and it's a hell of a lot easier to win in the ACC.
