As long as we don't go into a boredom coma and become someone's 1980 Lake Placid, we'll cruise into Baton Rouge undefeated. LSU's defense still matches up well with us, so they'll hold us down, but it'll still be a 21-10, 24-7-type beatdown. If you think otherwise, simply look at the pic below. All you need to know. He was NOT the upgrade they were hoping for.
I don't think we have a good enough sample size to judge LSU right now. They looked pretty bad on Saturday night, but it was just one game. Gotta give Auburn's defense some credit too. They looked much better, especially the DL. Still, I would have to say LSU looks to have more issues at the moment than I expected. Always hard to go into Baton Rouge at night and come out with a W. Like our chances right now though.
If LSU was smart, they'd feed it to Hilliard about 20x game and compliment him with Ford and Ware. They need to find a TE/HB in their offense, and they better get healthy or better (or both) on the OL, or they could drop one to Florida or South Carolina. Maybe even both.
I don't think they beat both. 1-1 is likely and 0-2 is looking as likely if not more than 2-0.
i think both florida and sc match up well with them. @ florida then sc at home then A&M will score points on them.
its possible they drop one or more in this stretch. i hate that they have the week off ahead of us again this year.
Hey 92D! Let up on Zach! If he wants a mustache, let him have it. It looks better than Andrew Luck's scraggly beard. If
the guy had just not shaved for 3 weeks, nobody would have even noticed........Hey Brian VanGorder has spoken. RTR!
Alabama 12 Tennessee 10. I mean, it happens. Way too early to tell. Lets see how they do against Florida in the Swamp in two weeks.
If you look at overall schedule right now. AU has played a pretty rough stretch. LSU has played no one & it showed the other night. AU looked like the team that had actually played a few decent football teams thus far. & now LSU gets mighty Towson before hitting it's tough 4 game stretch. I see no way LSU survives that stretch without dropping a couple of games.

LSU is trying to figure out how to use Mustache Mett. I think its been so long since they've had a good QB they don't know what to do with him. Mett has a great arm but he's very immobile and they aren't used to that either. From what I know about Kragthorpe (sp?) he's a pretty good QB coach and may figure it out by our game. My guess is he plays about like AJ did last year in the first game vs LSU. Which is not very good but not terrible. Overall its a plus for them but their defense seems to have lost a step. Our defense has lost a step also but our offense is a lot better. Add all that up and we're at least a 10-14 pt better team. That's where I put us last year before both games. Until I see more from LSU that's where I put it now.
THIS. THIS. THIS.
Mettenberger looked like a statue on Saturday night. There were several plays where he had to take off running and he looked like an old man hobbling up to the buffet line at Shoney's doing it. 2 of those were 3rd down plays that Mettenberg missed making a 1st down by a yard or less. One because he was too slow and the other because he dove down way too early to avoid the hit.
LSU still has a great defense, but there offense is woefully inept. Auburn put 8 or 9 in the box and dared Mettenberger to beat them and he couldn't. His receiver couldn't get open, his line couldn't hold their blocks long enough and he couldn't make the throws he needed to make.
He may get better as the season progresses but one thing that will not change is his inability to run.
