When was the last time you remember this even a distribution three weeks into the season? With the exception of Vandy's 2-game lead over UK in the East, and Auburn's extra-special futility (LOL) everyone else in the league is within a game of the team in front of them and behind them.
Usually it's much more packed in the middle with less separation, but this tells me we're in for a crazy race in the league this year. Anybody can beat anybody. MSU and OM are almost certainly going to surge. We will probably fall back closer to .500. I think if we win 4 more conference games we're a lock for Hoover with 12 teams making it. Auburn and UGA are baaaad.

Avoid being swept and winning a few games that we shouldn't will help out post season chances. We will see how this team looks against some of the better teams in the conference.
I wouldnt't start feeling too confident. The teams we have played thus far have a combined records of 5-32 with 2 of those wins comming against us. Talk to me in three weeks. Hitting on this team is bad.
how can Georgia possibly be so bad in baseball? They have NO excuse at all...

I'm not confident in anything other than getting to Hoover, and that's only because 12 of 14 have to go. It would take an epic tank job to blow it, given we already have tie breaks over 3 of the teams we'd be battling for spots and a sizeable lead.
But we're already +5 in road games compared to last year 3 weeks in.
Say what you will, but 2 of 3 at Auburn is difficult for Bama. More difficult than 2 of 3 at Vandy will be. We own the Dores.
One series at a time. With our schedule, if we get to 15 SEC wins we go to a regional. That's an 8-13 finish. That's 0 sweeps and 1 series win.
Sweeping Mizzou will be huge for that 15 win mark.
Our bats may be mediocre but our pitching and fielding can cover up that weakness enough for us to land in a regional.
I'd be very pleasantly surprised if we win the series at Vandy. Their starting pitching is dominant - their strength vs our weakness. Ziomek and others may present a challenge for us.
Overall, I think these next 2 weekends will tell us a lot and decide the direction our season goes. We haven't played a good SEC opponent yet. Win one of these series and avoid a sweep in the other and we're set.
That's very good to see us do this, this early in the year. My guess is we will find out in the next 3 or 4 weeks about how good we are. We play some very good teams the next 4 weeks. Roll Tide
We've probably had the easiest schedule of any of the SEC teams so far. This weekend is a big series.
Yeah next couple weekends will show us a lot. Really anxious to see how our freshmen do against some tougher competition. They have done well so far; not a huge surprise but I wouldn't go so far as to say they were expected to do this well. Think this team has a chip on their shoulders; especially after being predicted to finish last or next to last in the division this year.
Looking to the futre, this team has high expectations and they don't expect it all to happen overnight so they know they need to keep working and getting better every game, never getting complacent. Look for some great things from this group in the next couple of years.
