Alabama has won national titles in 8 of the last 10 DECADES. (20s, 30s, 40s, 60s, 70s, 90s, 2000s, and whatever we're calling this current one.)
That is so ridiculous. Most teams would kill for 8 titles period.
Good one. I also like the one where we are 100% on the last six national title games.
Folks asking about pics so 1. Near Skagway AK 2. Ketchikan AK 3. Space Needle in Seattle. This summer was a great trip.
Meanwhile Michigan has failed to win a title in 6 of the last 7 decades.
Lulz at Michigan.
Hahaha. So true.
Texas and Ohio State were the same way until recently. Some "blue bloods" they are.
Another fun quirk: we were essentially a game away from playing for one on two different occasions in the 80s. A "down" decade.
I think only 3 true bluebloods exist. Bama, Notre Dame, and Southern Cal.
Michigan and Ohio State say they are but Michigan has 3 national titles since the SEC was established. Ohio State has never beaten Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, or Tennessee.
I'd go those three and maybe Oklahoma. But yeah...that's about it. Nebraska was close until fat, slow white dudes became obsolete.
Def Oklahoma and then Nebraska and osu IMO. Michigan and Texas need to pick it up
Tommie Frazier says hello ... But yeah, i know what you're saying.
Michigan deserves to be up there - most all time wins, highest winning percentage, most winning seasons - doesnt matter how long it's been - we had our time in the wilderness - granted, not THAT long.
There was roughly 25 years between each of our 3 great coaches. CPB came exactly 28 years after CWW and CNS came 25 years after CPB. We will have another but let's hope it's not that long next time. Hopefully we have learned what not to do like require that he have previous ties to Bama.
An even more telling statistic is the timing of those titles. Alabama has won 9 AP titles since 1960. The closest competition, in total AP titles, is Notre Dame with 8 AP titles; however, only 4 of their titles came after 1960. Their others were won before 1950, the year when college football universally adopted plastic helmets over leather ones. The distance, between Alabama and all others, is staggering.
