Can't say much, students didn't show either.
The problem with this team is that they play with the same personality as the head coach and it makes everybody who has ever followed UA Bball become apathetic. The Coliseum is like a funeral home these days.
These kids play pretty hard, they just can't shoot. It is pretty simple.
Pathetic crowd yet again. I rarely missed a home game when I was a student at UA from 2006-2010. Smh
It's Miss St on a Wed night. Give CAG the same time that we gave Gottfried and you'll see a more consistant team. He's still
growing into a really good coach.
The Dynasty is Here!
The poor folks seats were empty from about twenty rows down too, as were the students. My daughter and I left at the half
Because I got tired of her asking me why we couldn't throw the ball through the basket, and why the MSU coach screamed so many bad words.
Coleman seats 15,000. UA enrollment exceeds 30,000. Didn't look like 5000 students were at the game.
I don't like the season ticket seating arrangements, but if your student body isn't interested in coming what other barometer do you need to know that the product on the court isn't worth watching.
im laughing at the "it's wednesday night" posts
hello, does anyone watch basketball on tv throughout the week and see other college's crowds?
and how about the people so caught up in deflecting from the poor season ticket holder attendance to the student section say this
"we need both the season ticket holders AND the student section do better showing up"
Yeah outside the SEC sure.
The league is the worst it's been in maybe 40 years and that's saying something. Fact is only Missouri and Florida are tourney quality teams. Alabama has played the easiest SEC schedule of any team this year. Our best win is over a bad UK team that looks like it won't make it into the tourney. Our only shot of getting to the tourney is beating ole miss and Florida. The SEC has an outside shot at having 3 team make the tourney. Let that sink in for a minute. Fact is if we played in a good league this year we would be getting our butts kicked.
I'm not so sure that's true. We seem to play up to good competition (minus the Mizzou game) and down to bad competition. I think we'd have a pretty similar outcome in most conferences this year.
Please tell me another conference in America that this team would be over .500 in? I'll wait...
This may not go over well, but maybe they play with the same personality as their fan base as well. Ya ever thought about that? Our message board basketball fans are so negative it's hard to read this stuff. If u think the lack of tough play or focus comes from their coach, look in the stands.
The ACC, Pac12, Atlantic 10, and possibly Big10. We'd be over .500 in all of those. In over our heads in Big East and Big10
Honestly think we'd be at least over or at .500 in every conference, seeing how we're 10-3 in this one.
Basketball is down throughout the nation. There are no great teams anywhere. The scoring is pitiful everywhere. No one is satisfied with a win anymore. I hate there offensive style of play but he has enough coaching ability to hang his hat on something that he can win with. Defense and rebounding we can do every night but shooting and scoring we are inconsistent with. These guys are young and if they stay around they will get better offensively over the next two years. It's not like we get nba ready players, he has to develop his players and shooting is part of the development.
Self fullfilling prophecy....people think nobody goes so it'll be boring...thus nobody goes...so it's boring. Won't change until we consistently win and are an annual tourney team.
and have you watched those successful basketball programs consistently fill up their football stadiums? Not close - UK, Duke, North Carolina. You guys will complain about damn near anything.
Well that's pathetic of a fanbase if thats true. I think it's more of a reflection of the state of basketball in the SEC conference. Frankly, Alabama playing an inter-divisional game against Arky or Miss State just isn't that appealing, right now. The NBA and NCAA must work a deal to get rid of 1 and done. It's should be the baseball/football rule. Go out of highschool, or go to college for 3 years. If they can't see that the current rule is ruining the product on the court, then they're blind
