Bama won't drop past 5th. We play #4. 2 of the 3 undefeated will lose a game.
We only have to get the #2 spot. Bama vs Oregon in Miami. It won't be the end of the world if it doesn't happen. But I'm convinced it will.
Who exactly is KSU going to lose to? Texas has improved but they're still just not that good. I think USC has a better chance of beating Oregon.
Do people still not want a playoff? I'm tired of a single freaking loss ruining our season. It happens. Two teams get on the field and one of them has to lose.
Not gonna happen bro...
and nobody thought oklahoma st would lose to iowa st.
I just want to stomp au's guts out. We should be pretty pissed by 11/24. We match up well with Georgia. If we get that W, we either go to Miami or could play Notre Dame in the sugar. Not a bad year coming off a National Title and losing all those players to the NFL.
Exactly. People have short memories here.
Also in 2007 LSU needed about four teams to lose in order for them to get back in it and they lost the week before the SEC title game. They needed Oregon, Kansas, Mizzou (beat #2 Kansas, claimed the top spot and lost to OU in the Big 12 title game), and West Virginia (#2) to lose.
Notre Dame, KSU, and Oregon now all have tremendous pressure on them (like we did). UGA does too (because they're basically in our shoes). Let's see who handles it and who doesn't. All 3 undefeated teams still have to beat decent teams to get to Miami.
USC could do it all by themselves. The game they played against Oregon was very close. Could go the other way next time. I fully expect USC to beat Notre Dame and they will be favored anyways. Who knows if Texas/Baylor could take down K State?
@ the OP. Let's assume we go to Miami and play Oregon. Can our D stop their offense?
Stanford and Oregon state could give the ducks a game as well. If Texas can get an effort out of their D, they can win. USC will be favored over Notre Dame. Not a Iowa state miracle in my opinion, actually pretty good chance if we win out.
Manziel's passes were right on the money and we came out flat against the aggies yet we were two yards from victory at the end the week before took a slight toil on us physically but a month to prepare having seen the same offense I would bet bama in this scenario I also think the aggies defense is better particulary in the secondary jmho of course.
After last year, I still believe. Bama vs Georgia in Atlanta for a trip to Miami. The world will get it's first taste of the college playoff that's coming in 2014. Ultra hyped, crazy atmosphere, everything on the line. It's gonna happen.
I hope you're right!!
Not likely but possible. It did happen last year.
Even still, if we win the SEC with a 12-1 record and go play in a BCS bowl, it's hard to be too disappointed in that. That is not our main goal but is still a good season.
I think with six weeks prep and rest as opposed to four days prep after a war in Death Valley makes a world of difference. I think Oregon is a damn good team, but I think under those circumstances we win more than we lose.
We first gotta beat Georgia.
Can't look past them anymore. I think if we can rest our starters for most of Western Carolina and Auburn, then we can maybe be fresh for UGA. They're playing good ball right now and you gotta believe that Aaron Murray is waiting for his chance to throw against our secondary.
Oregon is hurting in a major way with injuries and they are about to play the most physical team in the PAC12, If they survive that then they get Oregon State who can put up some points and is also pretty physical...then its USC or UCLA. They don't go thru those 3 games without a loss. KSU is the logical undefeated team as I have no faith in Texas or Baylor to clip them. USC will light ND up. We will whip UGA in Atlanta! Bama/KSU in Miami.
We'll have a month to prepare. That's what I'd be confident about.
