I tell you the baseball team is not doing good at all but we don't here nobody talking about the head coach being fired but you look at the basketball program which have 20 wins and people still want to fire CAG. Why is that ????? SOMEBODY PLEASE ANSWER THIS QUESTION FOR ME???????
Gaspard will be squarely on the hot seat (or possibly fired) if they don't turn it around this year.
But to compare him to Grant is laughable. Mitch had us literally 5 feet from Omaha a couple years back. He also was an assistant on some of the best teams we've ever fielded here.
He's actually won a few meaningful postseason games in his tenure.
If we keep playing this way it will start up again.
Man I can tell you weren't on here last year or right at the beginning of the baseball season.
You weren't here last year.
I, like with Grant, will wait and see on Gaspard. Let him get into the SEC schedule and see how he does against the likes of LSU, MSU, Vandy, UF, etc. Especially on the road where we didn't win at all last year.
I think this team is much better then last year. And the test will be coming up in the next few weeks as we hit SEC play. We played bad against Tulane, Memphis and Auburn. No excuses.
But the Louisville sweep wasn't bad against a team that is year and year out pretty good and ranked in the top 5 right now. We lost in extra innings both times with a team filled with freshman and young players. We had the other game tied into the 7th. We weren't blown out from the get go like last year. And yes I am disappointed we didn't win any of those games.
But wait and see how they develope and how the season turns out.
And btw, everyone is waisting their breath on asking who to hire for Grant because he will be here next year. No problem with griping about some of the things he does, but he isn't going anywhere.
You definitely weren't here during the debacle of last season. My patience with Gaspard and staff is wearing ridiculously thin
Baseball's facilities are terrible but that's no excuse for Bama baseball to not make a regional every year.
I do think that we should have been replace the baseball stadium. I don't understand what they are waiting on its not like they don't have the money and I no its football money but I do think that they should consider an upgrade fast hell USC softball feild look better than our baseball field.
Please take advantage of this.......please.

Does this also mean since Grant won more games this season than Saban did that he should be safe?
scored a ton more points too
You weren't HEAR last year, you could HERE people talking about it all over HEAR!
Mitch got rid of the man who got Bama "five feet from Omaha" when he let coach Bunn go after one year!
Our hitting was just as big a part of that team's run as anything. Ross Wilson, Rut, Clay Jones, Jake Smith, Dugas, etc. Of course, you could make the case that Mitch didn't recruit any of those guys...which is a separate issue in and of itself. And is accurate.
Bunn did a nice enough job but that staff was deeeeep. Nelson, Morgan, Peanut, Smart, White, Hawley, etc. Smith as a closer at the end of the year.
BTW - the reason we didn't get to Omaha is because Bunn's pitching staff gave up 19 runs on Sunday and 8 on Monday after taking a 1-game lead in the series at Clemson. Hard to keep yourself in a game when the other team is hitting the cover off the ball. Our staff was rested but got hammered up there.
I thought it was this guy before I opened the post. You seen my baseball?

Why do people keep bringing this 20 win argument when discussing the basketball team. That is about the equivalent of a 7-5/8-4 season in football.
25 months as a lurker, enjoying the tremendous success of our football, softball, golf, and gymastics teams; all the while lamenting the disappointment of our baseball and basketball teams. Diligently resisting the urge to post on the myriad of topics you have no doubt perused, waiting for that perfect time, that golden moment to break your silence and make that unforgettable first post, announcing your triumphant arrival into the ranks of the esteemed Posters of BamaOnline. Then today, at long last, that moment arrives.
And you post " This^^^^^^^ ".
Regardless, welcome. Hope you do better than my paltry 3-star rating.
Guys, DrHartman is a big supporter of this program. I can tell because he is on all of the baseball threads. He was on CMG side for most of last year before losing his faith in the program. For him to say that his patience is wearing thin is saying big things for me too.
DrHartman, i love Alabama and want the best for all of our sports. We're not getting it with baseball. I'll be patient with you but my patience is wearing thin too brother.
