I'd like to see a 3-year commitment.
What's that you say? F me? You have to take care of you?
Seems unfair IMO.
I think Tony Mitchell is the poster child for the one-year-at-a-time scholarship.
He did stay 3 years, though.
1 year scholarships keep players motivated every year and not just their last. I see it in the military. People sign for 4-6 years and it is pretty difficult to get fired and they slack off and go through the motions. They may try 30 days at the end of their repoting period so they can get a good rating.
Just curious...can anyone name a football player @ Bama, that is no longer on the team, that didn't recieve a medical scholarship (for the remainder of his 4 years) or leave to play football elsewhere, because THEY WANTED to try to play elsewhere? Some were kicked off the team but which ones were because of the numbers crunch and were not taken care of? I have noticed Saban likes to do this and we have at had least 8 former players on the team that have been on medical scholarships. Who has Saban left in the cold?
