"Show class, have pride, and display character. If you do, winning takes care of itself." -Coach Bryant
If people want to make fun of us for living up to a standard and putting a ton of DBS in the NFL let them. I don't want kids here anyway that think there's something wrong with that. People say that a lot but here at Bama it actually works.
"We're modern-day gladiators, and that mental toughness is really important to have in a good team." Nick Saban
"NO GUTS, NO GLORY!!" ... "We're in the glory hole. Now we're rockin' and rollin'!"
"Character" is doing the right thing when nobody is looking.
Shane's an energy vampire.
Agree with what 22sec said. Parents might actually look at things like: education, support groups, outside influences, how their kids are prepared for the next level. Instead of things that impress 18yr olds like: cash, partying, free women.
It is funny because I heard Bobby Bowden on Tim Brando's show this morning and they were discuss all the recent issues in college football. Bowden said he and Paterno where at a function and where asked if the players had changed in the span of their long coaching careers. Bowden reponded "No, their parents have. They're not raising their kids anymore with disipline and respect." I thought it was a great point. Good parents are SUPPOSED to be involved with their teenage child's life!
I already saw this a couple days ago. The line was "If Geno goes to where he feels the most comfortable, it will be Auburn". Nobody uses that phrasing unless they know whats going to happen and need to get the spin ready.
Nobody ever feels "comfortable" in Tuscaloosa.
