Damn they went at him alot!
Yes they did but even with all their completions he was really in pretty good position and I think he played a good game. RTR
Yes he was, but our depth at CB is killing us, our safeties just could not cover at times. Belue played great given the circumstance, but I won't lie, I was screaming to have Dee cover Landry. RTR.
They burned Dee a few times too. Mett was just on tonight...
Dee has misplayed the ball a few times the past couple of weeks, but I wouldn't say he got burned. He definately missed tackles which was a rare characteristic for him this year. RTR.
Thing was none of the corners were really ever out of position. Most were just really good passes. Safeties, well, there are teaching moments to put it lightly. I think you will see a lot more regular packages to keep CJ off the field. Not next week. But more than we have seen.
They went after Belue hard. I hope he can tighten up a little. What a great win though. I love this team.
They went after Belue, Perry, and Sunseri. Mett was on and they had a great passing gameplan. I haven't seen a Bama secondary carved up like that in a long time.
Probably not since Otis Campbell did it two years ago in Columbia.
belue played a hell of a game.. I know some people will think im crazy but the kid was always in position. LSU gave everything they had tonight
Was that two years ago. I tried getting my therapist to put me under and erase that game from my memory (g).
Ronald Reagan: Man is not free unless government is limited.
He was in great position on the TD pass. It was just a perfect pass and catch. Just one of those nights for LSU. We are going to need the entire secondary to step it up next week.
The price of victory is high, but so are the rewards.
Hes milliner 2010, except he's just barely being beaten, not blowing assignments.
I agree. He was never in very bad position. They just executed extremely well. Extremely well.
Sunseri was slow tonight. Perry was what I figured, a good tackler but not the best coverage guy. Belue got beat by some of the best passes you'll see thrown by any QB. Peyton Manning couldn't have thrown a better fade pass than Mettenberger did on that one play and about 2 other times Belue missed the ball by about 3 inches or less.
And he got beat alot as well, but he seemed to always be a finger tip away. He didn't look very good to me, buy it had to be a great learning experience, and we ended up winning the game, so let's move on an support him in the future. He did much better than I would have done....................................................................................................................RTR.
Look we new what our weakness was on defense before the season started, the secondary. But the big problem last night there were to many 3 and outs, 1 out of 9 on 3rd down by the offense. The more our defense stays on the field the more our opponents can figure out our weaknesses and we also looked tired at times because of being on the field so much. But anyway we WON and thats what we went down there to do. RTR
I agree here....It was our offense that had the decided advantage out of both teams coming in. Their defense had played almost as well as ours stat wise. Against a tougher schedule than we have played. Our offense stalled badly on 3rd down. But they saved the best for last. On to next week. Survive & advance!!!!!!!

Sometimes you just get beaten by a perfect pass. Belue was in position nearly every time he got beaten and we haven't seen someone place pinpoint passes like that in years. Mett just played out of his mind.
I'm less concerned with our secondary than I am with our Dline making our secondary cover while the QB sits back and makes a sandwich.
Nick Perry got abused.
I agree that he will be better because of this game! Go back and watch film and make corrections. I agree that the offense had a lot to do with it too. Next!!!!
