Ben, it was great seeing you run hard last night. Thanks for all your hard work throughout your career at Bama. You just replaced J. Williams as my 10 year old son's favorite Bama player.
5th round of the draft...I see it coming....really Ben must be a warrior...it was obvious Saban wanted to reward him last night...thanks Big Ben
I love to see players who work hard get rewarded with playing time. It's even better when those players make the most of their time in the spotlight!
I've known Ben for a couple of years now, and I can tell you when he gets on the field on offense and special teams, there is no one who competes harder. He works his butt off everyday for four years in practice and no one deserved that yesterday more than him.
what college football is really all about. nice thread and GO BEN!
Choose not a life of limitation
Ten years from now Ben will walk into local steak house and someone will say that's the Howell kid who ran hard in the Arkansas game one year. I'll shake his hand.
Proud of the kid too.
Very proud of Ben, when the camera panned over to him on the sideline and it showed him grinning from ear to ear, you know that made his parents and me also very proud. Kudos to Ben!
"Character" is doing the right thing when nobody is looking.
Loved seeing him out there running hard.
Way to go, Ben! Proud of you!
Someone should make a movie about Ben. They could show him spending 2 years at Shelton checking his mail every semester to see if Alabama has accepted him, and how he finally gets to say "Don't I know you?" to the sorority b***h that wouldn't let him paint helmets. I think there is a great plot here somewhere and will continue to work through it in my mind.
That's what it's all about! It's great to see a kid who works hard day in and day out get some exposure. He's not a 1st round pick that's looking forward to millions in his near future, but you can tell he loves the game and being on the field! A good message for younger kids looking forward to a chance to play college football.
"Show class, have pride, and display character. If you do, winning takes care of itself."
If you don't pull for young men like this something is wrong. Great that he got the opportunity, thanks to the coaches for rewarding the young man. I always pull for these type of players. RTR
I also was grinning ear to ear knowing how much that meant to Ben.
Great Job! He earned it.
Always good to see guys that work so hard for years get their chance in an SEC game. Good for him.
