Last year or this year.. Back up your opinion..
What happens to everybody else has nothing to do with us, understand?”
2012 is better imo. 2012 OL>2011 OL, 2012 more experienced AJ, better WR corp except this year we really don't have the receiving threat at TE. RB maybe a slight edge to 2011 because of trent, but it could be argued that this year we have more balanced attack with both lacy and yeldon.
good points there.. I'm back and forth on this because I believe our playcalling from the box comes into play on making this decision
Exactly what I was thinking. Play-calling to me goes to 2011. But I'm willing to give Nuss a year to get that right...
ah, i was thinking strictly players, but I would have to give the play calling edge to 2011 for sure.
As I'm watching last year's game right now on ESPNU, I have to agree.. I think it's only fair to give Nuss the 30 days to see what kind of game plan he comes with
Well I know we all love Mac and hate Nuss now which is hilarious given how Mac was talked about most of last year...
...but the answer is pretty clearly 2012 to me.
Passing efficiency is way higher this year and we are much more explosive in the passing game averaging about a yard and half more per attempt. Despite the loss of TR, the running game is virtually identical. We have scored about 4 more points per game in 2012.
TRADITION IS THE FOUNDATION GREAT PROGRAMS ARE BUILT UPON.
2012....Haven't compared the numbers, but this year's Red Zone TD scoring efficiency "seems" much higher...(minus A&M game).
IMO 2011 and only because we had a better short/controlled passing game. Now we seem to run or throw down field. H-backs and TE's are far less involved this year. Now if they would incorporate more of that in the offense then i would say 2012 but i haven't seen it yet and there is no Brad Smelley.
Don't forget, Coach Mac had some duds last year too. The first LSU game comes to mind.
1960 Les Paul
You made the exact points I was going to make.
+1 to you.
This year by a long ways. A.J. is better than he was last year. Lacy and Yeldon are equal to TRich and Lacy, OL is better. WR is much improved with Cooper more of a threat that Maze. Tight end about the same.
It seems like we only have 3 or 4 set passing plays and 1 or 2 different ones after play action. I seriously believe we play certain games with a package of only 10-12 offensive plays. However, we do use the screen well, I just wish we would start a series with it instead of waiting until 2nd or 3rd and 10+
