I just have a great feeling that we will have some special package plays for Blake this week if Saban feels the need to break them out
I like that we have this on reserve if we do, but lets hope its not the type of close game where we need to do anything other than what we've been doing to be successful, to this point.
I think it's one of those things to give the opposition another something to worry about. Kind of spreading themselves thin in a way so they don't focus on a particular formation.
I've been noticing Sims playing during real time more often. I think we have something in the back burner. if we need points quick, you'll probably see him ( similar to the McElroy flea flicker vs Arkansas).
I would say it's highly unlikely we see Blake for any meaningful snaps in this game.
No offense to OP, but if that becomes necessary, we are in deep jambalaya Saturday. RTR!
Could not agree more.
Bj Scott IMO
Blake's gonna go to the air & really catch em by surprise exploiting the newcomers in their secondary! I would love to see it just as a change of pace with us up by 10pts already. Hope he and AJ have a great game. RTR
JMO on this, but we have seen several turnovers out of that package (two I can remember). CNS doesn't like turnovers, I will be surprised if we see it.
I don't see it.
I know we used him some against UT, but that didn't really provide much.
You are playing in the biggest game of the year, against the best opponent on your schedule. Why on earth would you take out your best player for a young QB who hasn't shown much in the wildcat package? (note I said wildcat, not when he is playing QB in mop-up). I doubt Saban would let him throw with so much on the line. If a throw is going to be made, it will be by AJ. If a run his needed, I trust the RBs, especially since they will know that BS is coming somewhere between the 2 guards. Not to mention, good bye to freezing the LBs if you want to do a play action pass because they won't respect the fact with BS.
So I don't see it. Way too much risk with way too little reward. You get a lot more options and productivity by keeping AJ in with TJ or Lacy.
ok to stop the crucifixion, I retract my original statement
Not sure if I'd like to see the Wildcat again against LSU. Bad memories.
Kinda big If.. kinda like if my grandma had nnutts, she wudve been my grandDADDY!! Lol
