100% correct. Even when blowing by coverage he's so under control he looks like he's at 3/4 speed. As somebody else stated he makes things look effortless , amazing young talent that will only get better.
“Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift of God, which is why we call it the present.”
"You don't always get what you want, but you always get what you deserve"
Norwood is still there last time I checked. He's isn't too bad.
I remember TiderinFL saying that Amari was by far the best receiver prospect in Florida that year. Chris Black was #2 and was also from FL, so I was thinking he would be good but no one could have known just how good he would be.
Agreed. I've made the "Big Game" Torry Holt and Marqise Lee comparisons several times.
Actually played flag football in Raleigh-Durham area with Jimmy Grissett, former NC State WR. Grissett was Holt's mentor if you will as he was 2 years ahead of Holt at NC State. Not sure why Grissett didn't play in the league as he was 1 of the better WRs in the ACC and was around 6' 0", 195, 4.4. Anyway, gonna see if I can get him to watch some film of Amari and compare him to Holt as I definitely see the similarities in their games.
Grissett and Holt played together in 1995 & 1996 at NC State and Holt was his understudy.

Don't sleep on D White either. With Amari most likely getting doubled this season, White will break out.
Chris Black, Robert Foster, OJ Howard.
We are stacked beyond belief with young talent at WR, OJ is a TE, but he is so fast I think he can play WR
10 Major Poll National Titles (CFB record)
35 Bowl Wins (CFB record)
72 Wins over last 6 years (CFB record)
Oj can cause match up nightmares. Can line up tight or wide
He's a 6'6" WR bigger than your biggest DB or a 6'6" TE faster than your fastest LB.
Who covers him?
Losing doesn't make me want to quit. It makes me want to fight that much harder-Coach Paul "Bear" Bryant
Sorry to point out the obvious, but the matchup nightmares will really occur when he lines up tight and is covered by a linebacker. With that said, his length will give him advantages over shorter DBs on fade patterns and the like. But, with his speed and athleticism, CJ Mosley may be the only linebacker who could cover him. I'm stoked about this guy.
i once got a little Snatch in Highpoint, it was pretty good.
i've heard alot of Amari will simply get double teamed in 2013 chatter from both inside & outside of the Bama Nation.
i want to go on record right this minute & say..." i hope he gets double teamed on every play all season."
- no extra db in the box for run support
- one on one coverage for everyone else.
let me also say "the double team stuff isnt going to happen,. why ? because no one has the talent to double Amari, play base in the run,& cover everyone else in man.
try and visualize Bama's run game with ...
-Bell wide left
-Amari in the slot-left
-OJ Howard as a standup TE on the right (or Ch Jones/Black slot right)
-and Norwood (or D.White) wide right.
double team Amari ? good luck with that.
on a side note :
is the Bro guy, Bro McBride ?
- the 6-3.5 205lb wr prospect w/ 4.24 speed & a 43" vert that i keep hearing about.
