This is such a stupid post I mean why would they replace CAG right now when the programs is going in the right direction. I would love to see us run up and down the court and have 20 plus wins and a few defeats but it dont workout that way. Why not stop complaining and looking for another coach and supports this coach and this team instead of complaining because things may not be going our way. I hate fans that are luke warm I mean just support the team are dont support us either way it go CAG is not going anywhere.
Your right, and that mentality would have kept us with Shula too. I support the program, but that doesn't mean I can't look at what we are accomplishing and debate it and be objective. Look if this was 10 yrs ago and Grant was winning 20 games a year against that SEC schedule he would be in the tourney and no one would be complaining. Winning 20 games a year against this conference is no longer a strong indicator or being a good team. Grant won 12 SEC games two years ago and didnt make the tourney, and he might hit that again this year. If you won 12 games 10 years ago in the league you were in a fight for one of the top 8 seeds in the tourney. Also once again, people keep overlooking the biggest metric change in college basketball in 30 years. The tourney going to 68 teams was huge for bubble teams. It's vastly easier to make it now, and we still are on the outside looking in.
Also despite what other people's expectations are, mine are different. We didn't pay Coach Grant 1.8 mil a year to be on the bubble after 4 years. We paid him to get us in the tourney and have accomplishments, and so far his biggest accomplishment is being 2nd in a bad league. He is paid top 20 money, maybe after 4 yrs we should at least see Top 50 results.
tha eff? yes it would be a great hire. he would never come to Bama though. too many want him right now as it is.
Not only has he been dubbed as a cheat, but he's a rat too. And has been processed twice in doing so. Yes, he's a fine basketball coach, and yes any program would somewhat see some form of success with that program. But IMO it might be too much baggage. I stress what I said about him being a fine coach. His players play hard for him (huge plus IMO). But the question that needs to be asked is, is the baggage and risk worth the short term rewards for a university to take a chance on?
I'm not qualified to give that answer so I will leave it at that.

I would give you all my up votes. I agree 100%.
Would take pearl in a heartbeat. Don't think he wouldn't be kept in line by the athletic department (this is all hypothetical anyway-no way they would hire him.. but I can hope right?). Good lord at the paranoia on here.
you got jokes.
id be pumped about it
id be way more concerned that he is a former ut coach than about his ncaa issues, which are way overblown
It is not going to happen and definitely should not happen. Pearl has been run out of coaching by other coaches and also by the NCAA. Plus, Grant should not, and will not, be fired in the first place.
Get off the drugs!!!!
Pearl would not come here even if offered. He will be hired soon enough. Several teams will be interested in him in the NEAR future. Look for Ole Miss, Ms St., Texas, Georgia, Tx Tech, FSU, & few more. Look for Auburn to make a serious run at him as well, but dont see him wanting to be at that terrible program at all.
Don't want him as a HC, but I wouldn't mind a guy like him coming in during the offseason and teaching Grant how to coach offense!(g)
The price of victory is high, but so are the rewards.
Pearl anywhere in the SEC would dominate. He builds winners fast and ignites fan bases. It will be a great race to watch to see who lands him first.
Auburn can have pearl. He's a clown and would fit in great at the barn. He could go to the rodeo and play with bulls.
Bruce Pearle is out of contention. Heard Mike Shashefski (sp?) will be on a plane to Tuscaloosa tomorrow, which is why our football team can't go to the White House -- because we're using our plane to woo Shashefski. TIFWIW, YHIHF...
It would be a dumass hire!!
we would hire Bucky McMillan from Mountain Brook before we would hire Pearl and there is a zero percent chance of alabama hiring either. Pearl at Alabama will never happen.....people can stop that speculation right now.
