Man I don't want to lose JP
I wouldn't blame him or worry about it.
He is only two years in to being a DB coach and both Saban and Smart have a ton of influence in that area.
If he gets an offer to be DC a big time football school with tons of defensive talent like FSU, then he just has to take it. It's a stretch for FSU, but if they are willing to take a chance like UT did last year (though obviously Sal was much more experienced and lower risk) then you can't blame JM for making the jump.
UA will obviously not miss a beat and be fine.

I don't see why anyone would want to prevent a position coach on our staff getting a bigger job at a big time school. The best coaches in the country will be beating down the door to take his place. I like JP a lot, but the man may have a great opportunity at FSU. Staff continuity is important but coordinators leaving for head coaching jobs, and position coaches leaving for coordinator positions are a sign of a healthy program. I see it as a win win all around.
Yea I agree. If true it's a huge promotion to a team that is loaded with defensive talent and probably had the second best defense in the country this year (behind UA). To expect our secondary coach to turn that down is sort of crazy.
This is a good thing! Alabama continues to be the best place in the country for a young coach to quickly accelerate his year and with our without him we will continue to be a major force on the field and in recruiting. We lose good coaches every year to promotions.
I'm sure I could take the time to actually figure out who CJP is, but I honestly don't feel like putting forth the effort.
