My daughter (only child) was accepted to The University of Alabama yesterday. I'm a proud parent right now. That is all.
Fantastic news brother! That's a good omen if I've ever heard one.

Just kidding, just kidding
if you dont mind me asking, do you know what her ACT score was. The reason i ask is this. My daughter is a senior and scored a 27 on her ACT. Not sure of her GPA but she makes pretty much all A's. She's putting in applications now, and is worried she won't get accepted. Hope thats not to personal or an out of line question. BTW, congrats to you and your family.
A 27 is higher than what my daughter got. We were told to apply early and so we did. It worked out really well I must say because she got accepted and sent her alot of info and a pretty neat certificate for being accepted. I don't think your daughter should worry, good luck and thanks.
with a 27, your daughter will be accepted
27 certainly gets you in but I think the 28-30 range is where the better schollies start.
thanks for the quick response! Are you in the military? The reason i ask is i was wandering the instate/out of state tuition would work. I'm active duty, my home of record is Alabama but my daughter goes to school in TN. I guess I need to quit being lazy and just call to UA and speak to them directly. Thanks again.
Congrats! that is awesome news

Get her an Alabama Drivers license and get mail to your house and you should be alright. Im from Florida but my brother was doing his Medical residency in Birmingham at UAB hospital when i went to UA. I puthis house which he owned as my primary address when i applied and got a license from the state and got instate tuition. Beat the system RTR

That is GREAT. Congrats to you and your daughter. My son is a senior this year and wanted to go the Bama but the out of state tuition is outrageous. So he may got to juco for a couple of years then go to Mississippi State. My wife is a graduate of Miss State but since we have been married I have turned all of them into Bama fans. Lol
A proud day indeed, congrats!
Lookup the academic common market. It allows you to go to an out of state school for in state tuition if the out of state school offers a major that you can't get in state. there are other requirements but that's the main idea. I hope this helps.
