For those interested in Bama's chances. I did not see this posted anywhere but a few were interestd on our standings. Bama does not sponsor many of the qualifying sports, much to my chagrin. But in my heart I know we deserve it!
Recognizing the best in men's and women's Division 1 college sports.
Lacrosse and Volleyball seems to be a major contributing sport towards this trophy . Also, the fact that they separate the women's and men's sports is kind of dubious IMO. We all know what school had the "greatest" achievement in 2011-12 though. .

With good years from the football, basketball, golf, and baseball teams we might have a shot at the men's cup one day.
Women's we're certainly in contention for but gymnastics being excluded (probably due to a lack of a Coaches' Poll) doesn't help. Then again, neither does that abortion we call a basketball team.
Doesn't make sense that our women only have 40 points and the men have 60. Are some sports weighted more than others?
Our National Championships are our only top 10 finishes as of yet.

Gymnastics is in there.
True. The women have Golf and Gymnastics. I wonder what determines the weight of each sport and it's championship.
If you go to link and look at scoring, you will see that Bama girls got 20 points for gymnastics and 20 points for golf. And Bama men got 60 points for football. I think it sux that the scoring is like that. You have to be good to finish in top 10 in all sports and Bama dont even have some of the sports!!!
men's golf will help as well as softball.
