I saw Jessie Williams at Academy one time buying a skateboard. Imagine a 320 pound nose tackle skateboarding...
It absolutely is not common for anyone. There are very few guys in the world that can raw bench a legit 600lbs, I used to train with one and he was freakish strong on top of being a powerlifter at the highest level for years. Smaller guys hit double body weight pretty easy. Not so for heavyweights like Jessie.
You do know that powerlifting is a pause technique which is far more difficult then bouncing off chest?
LOL yeah I used to compete APF, WPC. 600lbs touch and go with a bounce and a bro spot is still freaky freaky strong. It sounds like you are trying to down play it.
If you have read my other posts, i am not down playing it im just giving a different perspective. I as well compete in USAPL, APF and RAW Unity. Im 5'9" 198Lbs--RAW Bench best meet lift to date is 451 and best gym lift is 475, and yes I get tested for those out there as USAPL is a clean federation. I was giving a body weight to lifting weight perspective as the 600 is 1.875 x his. My best gym lift is 2.398 x mine.
Just a different perspective, in the end i dont really care what any of them do as long as there in the right place and do there job on the field.
BTW--whoever is down voting my comments, sorry for going against the grain, even though there was facts backing them up

Pagan threw up 500 today.
On Alabama: CeCe Jefferson - "It was a bunch of beautiful women..." Reggie Ragland - "oh the females of course..."
Pretty darn impressive for a sophomore!!
Don't be a pre-Madonna and do it yourself. We all know you're a rocket surgeon.

I like football. Take that with a grade of Saw.
Follow me on twitter, @BSCTIDE. Let's tweet.
So what percentage of 300 lb D1/NFL football players do you think can bench 600, even with a bounce? You sound like pretty much all of them can or should be able to.
Whats your point?? Being questioned about giving a different perspective. I stated earler that it was not chest thumping, you dont even know me. Get enough people questiong a comment, why not back it up with some real facts?? Instead there is the typical post from you just running your mouth
If you read all posts, you would know that is not what I said.....I bet there isnt 5 guys that can, maybe off by a few but prob close. People crack me up when someone says something different then the masses as if I am way out of line and need to put my crimson glasses back on
Never mind....that was the most impressive picture I have ever seen!
Of course it's not chest-thumping -- you would break your finger trying to thump *that* chest!
UP TOP BRO
Don't get all defensive I'm just trying to understand your perspective. Obviously if only 5 guys in D1/NFL football can do it, that's an elite lift, so cool.
So why is it that more of them can't do 600? 2x body weight should be a routine lift for someone at that level, is what you seem to be telling us.
He doesn't really have a point, other than "I have a tiny penis but a big chest"
A lot of factors go into why it cant be done on a regular basis, Build, arm length, tie ins, etc. It doesnt mean those guys are not strong because that is far from the truth. All I was saying is a guy like Jesse who is 320 Lbs and carries the majortity of his weight up top with a barrel chest which gives a shorter press. I am not suprised my his number or power as he has a prime build and work ethic to move very solid weight.
You want to get personal, feel free to line up and see what happens. Good chance your in your moms basement or hating life with your obese wife. I dont attack anyone personal but its people like you that cross the line. I can promise you, you wouldnt run your mouth if you werent behind a screen
Fair enough, but you can see how saying you would fully expect someone who is 300+ and top heavy to push 600 because it's "not even 2x his body weight" and he used a bounce could come across as downplaying it and sounding like there are plenty of guys who can do it.
The only thing the people disagreeing with you were saying is that it's a bench that very few football players can do, regardless of body weight ratio. Which you agree with, so it's all good. Easy to come across the wrong way on a thread like this.
Good deal and reasonable response,
