@RapSheet: Push coming from #Oregon booster Phil Knight, I hear. 1 factor pulling Chip Kelly back to Oregon. Eagles, Browns regrouping. No decisions
That's from Ian rappaport.
@BrianMFloyd: Meanwhile, Phil Knight is standing outside Chip Kelly's house with a boombox and a bag of cash again
I hope he comes back. He's been a real innovator in college football. Still dreaming of a UA/Oregon NC Game.
It's either Philly or back to Oregon.
So is the 1 factor pulling Kelly back to Oregon that the Eagles/Browns are regrouping or b/c Phil Knight is making a push? Or are the Eagles/Browns regrouping b/c Kelly is leaning back to Oregon?
"Once in awhile you get shown the light in the strangest of places you have to look at it right."
The one thing that may keep him away is the possibility of possible sanctions and probation.
Sounds like Phil knight is the one factor pulling him back.
I think he has been told he won't have the control he is looking for.
Love the corporate intrusion of college football.
@mortreport: Obviously, this is down to Oregon or Eagles for Chip Kelly, based on what we know. Majortiy of league folks believe Oregon. Decision soon.
Ide like to see what he could do with Vick in the nfl
This is why parity will never be truly achieved in college football. Only a handful of programs can compete (in respect to resources) with teams that are backed by corporations as large as Nike.
This could be the decision that dictates the rest of his career...remember when Stoops had NFL teams interested? Not any more.....
Honestly he needs to go now while he has the chance. If its ever something he's aspired to do go now. Even if he's a failure at that level he's a proven winner on the college level and will have the ability to come back if he wants.
This. I think he needs to pull the Pete Carrol and leave before the NCAA strikes. If it doesn't work for him in the NFL, there will be college teams (including SEC teams) lining up to pay him top dollar to get him to return to the college game.
Next year, he could draft Johnny Football and then really make some changes in the way an NFL offense runs. However, without Manziel, he will have minimal impact on the League,
since no opening at Carolina to allow him having Cam as his QB.
I was thinking this as I watched the cotton bowl the other night. Would be a great way to get JM off our hands.
Agree, he spurns them this time he's likely not getting another nfl call
He needs to go Pro and be like the Cowgirls. No respect for others, he does not discipline his players, heck they can go 118 mph get pulled over and been smoking pot and yes they were not charged for it since they smoked it all and he does nothing. I would not want him to coach my son, sorry he needs to go Pro where a lot of the spoiled brats are
@DanWetzel: A dynamic if Chip Kelly stays at Oregon, 2013 postseason ban on table in pending NCAA case. So may choose team that can't win title over NFL
