I think I dreamed this, but it would make a heck of a story. Let's say Saban reached out to Chizik and had him replace Coach Pruitt. Then, in a couple to a few years, he gets promoted to DC under Saban and really learns how to coach. Even though he starts being sought after, he stays because he still has a bad taste in his mouth from his gig at AU and may not want to be a head coach yet again.
Lastly, what if Saban left in 10 years and Chizik 2.0 was picked to coach Alabama and he hated Auburn so badly that he beat them like 12 years in a row and won a couple of championships?
Come on, I know it couldn't/wouldn't happen, but it is a slow day today...would make for a great story.

Maturity is a bitter disappointment for which no remedy exists, unless laughter can be said to remedy anything. -- Kurt Vonnegut, Jr.
Dubose still holds the record for the biggest fall. From SEC champ to washing clothes at Northview HS in Dothan.
That'd be awesome - let's sign him to a $1/year contract and let the barn continue to pay quarter million a month for a couple of years while he works for Saban.
Did you wake up screaming? I would have.
No, not screaming, but a little depressed. However, it would really make the Barn look like shiite if it happened and that made me feel better.
I was entertained a bit, I'll admit it.

Let it go already......
This story would be more believable if unicorns were involved.
Sorry...all of our coaches must have teeth *SMILE*
I say we pass.
I've been trying....it's a tremendous challenge and a tremendous opportunity. clap clap.
Clearly it was God's will.
Outside of fat Phil or maybe Kiffin, I don't there's ever been an opposing coach that I would be totally against seeing at Bama **assuming** they win us championships. Am I forgetting any others besides those 2? Maybe add CUM to that list too
Not saying they would win championships here, either- my point is there just haven't been that many opposing coaches I intrinsically despise as people.
This would be awesome. Pat Dye's head would literally spin because we would have the equivalent of 11 Coach Sabans on staff...
This is like one of those dreams where you're falling from a tall building and feel the sensation of falling, but you wake up right before you splatter on the sidewalk.
I've been told he will be headed to TX to be DC. Nothing for sure, but whats being said.
Mother of god...
I think at one time since he left Bama he was over here in Mississippi coaching at Milsaps. Actually think he may have been the head coach for a while and did a decent job IIRC
I heard Coach Saban is thinking about bringing Pat Dye in to coach the Safeties. :)
