Is he? Is he as good as Cooper? I know we have Cooper, Bell, White, Christian Jones, Shinn, and the new kid who is so good. I know I'm leaving out someone? Possibly best receiving group ever?
I think we'll have to wait a little while to get a real feel on Black. Honestly, we don't know any more about him right now than we did when he was a highly ranked player out of HS.
You left out Woodson, btw.
He has terrific ball skills and has a chance to be an outstanding college receiver -- more of a slot type. Very good routes and outstanding hands.
IMO, we are all watching greatness in Amari Cooper. Not sure we should compare anyone to him coming in at this stage. He has the gear to get deep and get separation to go with great hands, size -- the total package.

I left out Norwood, damn, what was I thinking, he has made some big time plays for us the past 2 years. He could be beast this year!!
I just posted that, I dont know what I was thinking, he is really played well!!
We nearly burned Black's redshirt for the SEC Championship game. He's very good. I really hope Cyrus Jones can play more this year. He was one of my favorite recruits in last year's class.
I agree. Have never seen a better FR WR and that includes Julio. Nothing against Julio, he's just a different type of receiver. If Cooper stays, he will own all the receiving records at Bama.....heck he probably will own them all after three years.
I loved Ingram too but Yeldon's FR year was lightyears ahead of Ingram's. Now if Yeldon can improve on Ingram's Soph year then that will really be something.
The more important question is has he mastered the high point snatch?
I think he is very good, but better than Cooper? I doubt it, Cooper has been big time in big games! That is rare, and it's not uncommon to see very good players that do not have that ability. One of my favorite BAMA player will always be Langham because he did so much when we needed it, he was a shut down corner and a game changer! It looks as if Cooper is of that mold, maybe Black is too.
Bama is so deep at WR that you could take away our top 3 receivers and we'd still have one of the best corps in the SEC.
Black was doing very well before injury but nobody will be close to Cooper he's unreal.
This... And +1 for being Cyrus Jones other biggest fan.
They will be talking about Cooper 40 years from now! He will be a legend by the time he leaves. Ozzie, Hannah, D. Thomas.. etc. He is a rare player. Enjoy !
I just sat and thought to myself. Cooper never had a bad game that i saw him play in (healthy or semi healthy). Damn.......
Black scored a speedy TD at A day game........just sayin........
Yeah, but he also scored it over a walk-on safety. I have high, high hopes for Black, but until we see him go against real college players, I think we have little to add as fans to Lucky and Co.'s expert opinions.
This. Black will be a good WR at Bama but to expect him to be Cooper is really unfair.
He was not expected to play more than Cooper either like someone in this post said.
I have heard from a walkon LB that Black catches everything at practice, and is close in ability to Cooper. He also raved about A Kuandjio.
Duron Carter? Nobody mentioned LOL
Black is going to be a big time play maker.
Cooper redefined the High Point Snatch against Bacarri Rambo and UGA
You'll never achieve great things until you believe that's what's supposed to happen
