I have been at numerous practices and CB is the real deal. He probably will not put up the numbers AC has because there is only one ball and OJ is going to get his share of catches too. CB has quickness and shake similar to Percy Harvin and Peter Warrick. As great as AC has been, coming out of the spring I thought CB was the best WR on our roster.
Maybe he's saying the papers aren't signed yet?
Funny how people see different things. I have also been at numerous practices and noticed quite a diff b/t he and Cooper.
IMO he is not even close to Percy Harvins level either. But of course I was in the minority when I told everyone BJ Scott wasn't on Harvins level either... so what do I know?
Ready to see Williams and Black. Hope Williams stays at safety. I love to have freaks in the secondary. People who make Harvin references must not realize how good he is. You can make an argument that he is the most dangerous man in the open field in the NFL. I will wait and see Black do something before I make that comparison. I am going to say Cooper will be our best WR on team until he leaves.
Black doesn't have anywhere near the speed that Harvin has/had.
Robert Foster isn't going to Pitt. You shouldn't worry about that at all.
I think Eddie can be special at safety. He has the size, speed, ball skills, and strength to be a devastating tackler from the safety position.
Just my two cents and I am fully aware that Nick Saban knows more about this than I do. That being said we singed the #1 & #2 safety in last years class and I think it would be wise for one of them, whichever one picked by the coaches to change positions. I can't help but believe this is what ruined BJ Scott and I also think that Blake Sims would be much farther along if he would have moved to RB when first suggested. As for Chris Black and the ones who don't think he can be as good as Cooper, well he was in the spring.
No he wasn't.
nm... good thread

Where did anyone say he had near the speed Harvin has? I said quickness and shake.

You know better than anyone that position changes happen, but you also know better than us why they do.
My question is this. We have Collins who is too good to keep off the field, Sunseri who is too good to keep off the field, Clinton Dix who is too good to keep off the field, two different Williams guys who too good to keep off the field, Perry who has significant playing time. With that many safeties and more to come, why would we keep Eddie at safety.
If you had Cooper, Foster, Williams, Calloway and OJ on the field at the same time, imagine the miss matches. That many large dominant receivers we are bound to get the ball moving through the air.
Anyway, just interested in your thoughts.
I must post too late in these threads.
Though we have some great prospects no doubt, I don't think it's nearly that rosy at safety. Eddie will be a freshman next year. The three that have really played this year will all be upper class men. Perry will be senior. Clinton Dix and Vinny will be juniors. No way to know anything about Jarrick Williams who will likely be a junior but may be a senior, and too early to know much about the ultra talented sophomore in Landon Collins. I personally think that Vinny and Perry have some significant holes in their game. Clinton Dix is a true plus prospect but has made some mistakes this year.
Anyway I think that if he is a better prospect at safety then that's where he should play.

And Philip Ely would be our backup quarterback, Blake Sims HAS to be a quarterback right now, he is the only option we have if something were to happen to AJ.

Agree with you on Vinnie and Perry having some holes in their games. Although don't forget Vinnie has played out of his natural position since he's arrived here. Now with Geno Smith making his way onto the field, we'll see Vinnie creep up a lot more to the line. Perry has disappointed along with Lester. Lester should have been snatching everything coming his way. If the light comes on for Collins, I expect him and Dix to start beside each other. We just need to find another corner to go with Smith b/c Belue has been solid, but gives up the big play too often. Even the freakin' commentators are talking about attacking him b/c he's the weak link. Sorry for the tangent.
As I said earlier in this thread, I hope the coaching staff settles down to one position. As many talented wide receivers that listed on the roster, we don't have too many big ones. I would like to see him there to add that depth.
JKirkpatrick - I think you will be pleased with Belue at corner next year. He has good, natural ability at corner, and we need to remember he is in his first year in Nick Saban's tough system. I call your attention to the fact that Dee made a number of mistakes prior to this year, but can you think of a better corner in college football now than Dee?
