Pretty solid, IMO. And Low is a UT guy, isn't he?
The official word on Derek Dooley came down Sunday morning in the aftermath of the Vols worst beating by Vanderbilt in nearly 60 years. He is
Pretty honest look at the program and yes Low is a former UT beat writer.
It will take a special kind of person to take that job right now
good stuff. Hope they stay away from Kirby
I believe Hart said they want an experienced head coach.
Good read, thanks for posting.
There are only a few programs out there that will be elite without a truly elite coach. Regardless of tradition, money, facilities, pedigree, tv contracts, etcetera, very few programs will be really good without a really good coach, just ask Notre Dame, Nebraska, Miami, et al... Tennessee is in the same spot we were in before Saban. No matter how great we had been, an average coach was not going to return us to national prominence. I think Tennessee and Arkansas are both tough jobs given competition, lack of in-state recruiting prowess, and fan bases that have experienced winning at a high level but don't realize it isn't a guarantee just because they are Tenn or Arky.
Yeah he said head coaching experience would be "critical" so most took that to mean Smart isn't likely to be a primary candidate, at least initially.

"initially" is the key. Dooley wasn't a primary candidate either. I think Kirby would take that job, but I would be surprised it it is offered to him though.
