I am an oncologist in Tuscaloosa and work at the DCH Cancer Treatment Center. We had an event there today for the patients. We were fortunate enough to have some of the players, cheerleaders, and pep band come by. All were incredibly nice and well spoken young people. Vinnie Sunseri, Chance Warmack, Landon Collins, Bradley Silve(sp?), and Darren Lake were some of the ones that came. I sure am proud that we have such fine young people representing our university.
GREAT STUFF!!! RTR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love these stories
Cool story bro.
You didn't by chance used to work at Uab did you?
The title close encounter and then reading oncology in the first sentence made me think this was about a cancer scare close call at first.

Awesome to hear that our young guys were there with some older guys. Thanks for sharing.
Winning is not just the outcome of a game but the approach of those individuals to life and humanity.
God Bless you and your work.
Thank God for the character of these young men and women. RTR!
BTW had me scared at first....WHEW!
Burn baby burn. & Go to hell tennessee
UAGRAY- I did all my medical training at UAB but never worked there after finishing my hematology/medical oncology fellowship. You may be thinking of one of my partners, an MD, PhD (in molecular biology) who was on staff there before joining me in practice.
Just remembered who else was there- Dakota Ball and Alec Morris. Morris is huge for a quarterback. Sunseri is not very big at all. It made me appreciate those vicious hits by him all the much more. Also, I told Lake I heard he was going to be the next Marcell Darius. His teammates started giving him a hard time about that. All the guys were so good with the patients.
