Although it starts with a horrific beginning. A friend of my wife's daughter and grandmother were involved in a horrible accident on Sat on 459. 18 wheeler lost control and hit the van they were driving. Luckily at the last second the grandmother yelled duck and they did otherwise everyone at the scene said they would have been decapitated. As they were coming to a black gentleman was helping get them out of the van. He said he saw it coming and immediately stopped and got out and rushed to their aid. The gentleman was Siran Stacy. He said it brought back flashbacks of his accident but he was happy to be able to help. I heard him speak at First Baptist in Trussville and if you ever get the chance don't miss his testimony. Powerful stuff.
One of the most incredible seens before a game was him jumping up and down before the 08 Iron Bowl.
I have seen that scene before.
One of the most talented speakers I ever heard. I have had the privilege of hearing him twice. The first time (very hard to hear the details of his wreck and struggles) seemed like a couple of years after the accident (hard to remember now) but the last time was last year and he spoke at a teachers in-service in Hamilton and man I'm going to tell you it was unbelievable. It was completely different from what I was expecting. A good friend of mine asked me to go and I thought "man I don't think I can hear that again", but WOW!
Got to meet him and talk to him a few minutes. He is a great guy. One of my all time favorite Bama guys..
Folks asking about pics so 1. Near Skagway AK 2. Ketchikan AK 3. Space Needle in Seattle. This summer was a great trip.
I had that dang football he threw in the stands in my hands till my dad channeled his inner ray Lewis and knocked it out of my hands

God is working through Siran...he was where he was that day for a reason. I'm glad your relatives are safe.
If anyone on here ever has the opportunity to hear Siran's testimony don't pass it up.
"You don't always get what you want, but you always get what you deserve"
Here you go...
I have combined this video with the video of the coin toss. Please go here to see both together:
Siran Stacy, standout running back for the Tide from 1989-91, and his daughter, take the game ball and shake hands with Coach Nick Saban. Then, Siran urges the crowd to cheer in an almost serendipitous moment, pausing to throw the game ball into the north end zone stands. In 2007, a drunk driver's vehicle struck a van carrying his family and him. Killed in the accident were four of his five children and his wife.
"The sharp edge of a razor is difficult to pass over; thus the wise say the path to Salvation is hard."
Awesome story. He wasnt their just by chance. He was where God put him at that moment.
there are four parts..
Former University of Alabama Running Back Siran Stacy speaks at Meadowbrook Baptist Church in Oxford, Alabama about the tragic accident that killed his wife ...
