Well I guess we could also say he might have been the best pure passer this year haha
He will def be up there. Taj Boyd and Murray too. I'm sure I'm missing some others.
Who would you trade him for???????
1984 300ZX Anniversary Model, 1970 Olds 442 W-30 & Pepper Bird
You beat me to it
How amazing is that he has a chance to have 4 rings in 5 years....I would not take anyone in the college game right now. What a legacy !!!
If that's not Heisman material, nothing is.
Nothing but a winner on and off the field
Murray maybe but AJ certainly is one of the best QBs in CFB.
Only guy who might have an arguement would be Teddy Bridgewater.
He may embody that old Bear Bryant quote more than any other player. "I ain't never been nuthin but a winner."
ha. this is what I was thinking.
so I say Yes.
And how many Championships does Teddy have?
1960 Les Paul
Teddy bridgewater and taj Boyde are the only two I could think of that would compete. But I still wouldn't take anyone else over aj
Missing the point.
nope...AJ is better...Teddy may have some great games, but he's much less consistent than AJ...
We'll see next year...
I agree. But having more championships has nothing to do with being a better pure passer. I still think aj is a better passer than teddy, but the argument can be made.
No flame or disrespect intended but who cares....You will always hear this or that one is a better passer, runner or has more pro protential than AJ but none of them can say they are a better winner. Look at what he has done on the field and his charity work off the field and ask yourself could we do any better....
No flame or disrespect intended but if you don't care DO NOT open the thread because if you have to say "no disrespect" then you're being disrespectful.
Read my previous posts. I never disrespect anyone's opinion...Step back from the keyboard and count to ten and chill. My opinion on the subject is that we have the BEST QB in the nation and we should be proud of him and his accomplishments and not worry about anyone else's opinion of him...
Actually, to come into a thread and answer with a "who cares?" Is pretty disrespectful. If you really didn't care you wouldn't have looked at the thread. I won't bicker all night about this, but if we wanna have the discussion and you don't then just avoid the thread.
He is top 5 for sure with Murray, Manziel, Boyd and Bridgewater.
Who's bickering. The term pure passer is subjective and you can factor any number of things. I was enjoying the thread and was not trying to disrespect anyone then you chimed in with your opinion after telling a previous poster they are missing the point because they like me put a value on championships when determining the passing ability of a QB...But if you what to argue on stats that Bridgewater or Boyd are as good as AJ let's compare
Bridgewater 3718 yards 27/8 TD/INT 160.5 rating against the vaunted Big East defenses
Boyd 3896 yards 36/13 TD/INT 165.6 rating against those juggernaut ACC defenses
AJ 2933 yards 30/3 TD/INT 175.3 rating in the SEC
AJ had 100 less attempts than either of the two and a higher yard per attempt plus there are those 3 rings he has.
