Q. Headed to sunny Southern California.
D.J. FLUKER: Oh, yeah.
Q. Quite the run on tackles up top. Happy to be a part of that?
D.J. FLUKER: I can't wait. Coming into the Draft, being in the top, it's been a great honor to get picked.
Q. What's this say about football with so many big guys, guys in the trenches going so soon?
D.J. FLUKER: This was a great year for our offensive line. That was the main thing, from Luke Joeckel to me. Just guys that are durable.
Q. How did it feel getting drafted with the rest of your Alabama teammates?
D.J. FLUKER: It felt great. Dee Milliner and Chance Warmack, great guard, and it showed me that the hard work paid off for a change. Winning three times as champions, that paid off too. Now it's time to do it in the NFL now.
Q. D.J., what's it like to protect a veteran like Philip Rivers?
D.J. FLUKER: Feels great. He's a guy that goes in there and works, makes smart decisions, knows how to work.
Q. D.J., going to put another ring on that finger?
D.J. FLUKER: I need ten more.
Q. Have the Chargers been talking to you much?
D.J. FLUKER: Not really. This Draft was kind of unexpected. I didn't know how things was going to turn out. But I am glad that I'm here now.
Q. D.J., how do you explain your surge up the Draft board?
D.J. FLUKER: I'm a guy that goes out there and works. I go out there and get it. That's my team. I'm playing for my team. Like I tell people now, there is no "I" in team, but there is "I" in win, and that's for each individual doing their job, doing their assignments, and that's the main thing.
You have to play as a unit because, if you want to win a Super Bowl, those are things that you have to do right.
Q. You have Von Miller on the schedule twice. Are you circling those days on your calendar?
D.J. FLUKER: Actually, I'm not scared of competition. I tell everybody, I'm not scared of competition. Psalms 47 says, "Who shall I fear?" That's the main thing. I fear no man.
When it comes down to it, I put my pads on, and we're going hard at it all day, every day.
Q. Are you looking to play more on the left side or the right side?
D.J. FLUKER: I'm looking to play anywhere possible to help my team win a Super Bowl. That's my goal each and every year. Any other questions?
Thank you all. Appreciate it.
