Nothing new, but that owner will not allow this franchise to win. Its ashame that marketing a product and his own selfish need to make football decisions will always prevent one of the best sports teams to compete for Super Bowls. Of course the Romo could help if he was able to throw a simple pass to allow them to run out the clock. They will never get a succesful coach because of the owner and Garrett has mismanaged the clock for 2 consecutive weeks.
Jerry was the owner for 3 super bowl championships.
There is plenty not to like about him but to say that the franchise cannot succeed with him as the owner is false. And although the success has been nothing like the 90s, the cowboys have made the playoffs a couple times the last few years and won a game. Thats better than many franchises.

They did win those SB's but Jimmy Johnson was the coach for 2 of those and in charge of football decisions and draft picks. After the 2nd SB win, JJ (owner) did not like the attention coach was getting, and the fallout began, which led to the divorce. I know Switzer came in and won a SB the next year, but good lord, Johnson had stacked the roster with probowlers. Every since then the cowblys have done nothing, compared to the other big teams. That is a very well known story. I like Garret, but the only reason he is there is coaches such as Coward would not come under Jones.
Raiders by a mile. The cowboys are just now realizing they need to rebuild and stop pretending they are the most talented. I think they understand that they need to develop players now instead of free agency. Give em two more years. I hate Romo though.
When Terrance new is considered your best cover guy, another big glaring weakness.
How bout the Lions? I mean I know they have done somewhat better this year, but did anyone see them explode on national TV the other day, showing their true thugish colord. pushing officials, other players, etc.... stupid stupid stupid penalties. I agree Cowboys have some issues, but Jones did win superbowls. I think they need a change at the helm as far as QB goes. Romo was good at dating hotties....He is a choker, He chokes away the big game. just like the dropped snap on the hold that would have sent them to playoffs. He is good when there is no pressure. lots of players like that, but when its nut cuttin... he freaks. I say trade for a QB that knows what is going on, and can work with the talent they have now.
This is my evaluation of the Cowboys:
Strengths: QB (I know, but he's easily top 10 in the league, not every team gets an Aaron Rodgers), WR, Defensive line, TE, kicker, punter
Positions with some good players but need more depth: LB (Sean Lee is a beast, the rest suck), Oline
I'm counting Ware as D line even though he's technically an LB, just as I would pretty much count Upshaw on the line for us.
I would go with the Raiders. Hell, they even broke some of the Lions record for losing
I agree with most posts her, but it all starts and filters from the top. I said it in the initial post, Jerry Jones has the right to do what he wants, but he will not win consistantly again if he insists on himself and his sons running the football side of the cowboys. Hire someone and give them control of evealuating talent and let JJ negotiate the contract.
