Yea really. Take off your crimson glasses and pay attention. Im sorry i will say what no one else wants to say.
Just as there are smart analogies and dumb analogies. Yours was a dumb analogy.
I've been a high school soccer coach for several years, and I've never had a played who sustained a knee injury that required surgery. So, when you talk about "risk vs. reward", you don't know what you're talking about. You can also have various career threatening injuries in basketball...but just try telling players (and their basketball coaches) that they can't play basketball.
If you knew anything at all about what you're talking about, you would know that soccer has been an important activity in helping this kid develop his agility and footspeed...which will play an important part in helping him realize those dreams you mentioned.
This is why the 25 signed limit is stupid.
Wow they must really suck for this kid. I just bet he feels real bad about playing soccer.
My goodness people. I guess AJ should never play chess. Don't want to risk carpal tunnel syndrome.
That is what was thinking. If he is a really good soccer player, his potential might be off the charts. He has to have some legit speed and conditioning to be out there.
Hard to know about the injury and what it is...I feel bad for him because I don't think he can get the ridiculously good sports medicine care they would provide at UA yet. However, as soon as he gets to campus, the staff will take a look at it.

You just blew my mind.
Haha. I make far more typos than the average person. I just miss words some times and on these boards neglect to proofread.
Hey MiRikey...Softball is for girls also...but that doesn't stop millions of guys who think they're studs from getting out there and hitting ball after ball over the fence in leagues all over the country, now does it?
Too bad that so many guys who think they're "studs", who are really just washed up high school baseball players, have to resort to playing a girl's game. Not to mention the fact that they have to dumb down the game by making the pitcher pitch the ball slow.
Seriously...was that the best you've got?

MiRikey has delivered in this thread.
Pretty funny that you keep photos like that on your computer! I guess you've just shown us that we have our share of "switch hitters" here on 247!
I know that you're really not interested in looking at pictures of hot girls...but take a look at this website. Pretty much makes you look like an idiot.
Yes he has. Very good points as well (g)
On Alabama: CeCe Jefferson - "It was a bunch of beautiful women..." Reggie Ragland - "oh the females of course..."

Also, he could've been doing this...
...yep, that's Arie Kouandjio jumping a skateboard off a wall
Crimson glasses huh, I agree with gray shirting no matter which team you are talking about. It's not an Alabama issue it's an NCAA issue. So not sure how my "crimson glasses" come into play here.
"No one else wants to say it" because most have been paying attention and realize this is big boy football not little league where everybody is guaranteed to play and everybody gets a trophy.
Gray shirting may not be the ideal situation for a kid but it benefits both the teams and a lot of times the kids.
The problem is the 25 signing limit.

Hmm, I work in surgery and have seen numerous knee injuries from kids and adults playing soccer that required surgery to fix. Then again I don't know what I'm talking about.
Maybe it wasn't the best analogy but that doesn't negate my point about being prudent with your future and your career.
What I find interesting about this thread is how soccer guy is getting so defensive about this
Agreed. Someone is definitely mad.

I see your hot girl at European soccer game and raise you this .....
Something about that new Cowboys Stadium causes fans to get down and dirty. Word of advice: if a $10 Miller Lite gets a girl to do this, shes not the kind of girl you want. [GordonKeith.com]
