He says "crap" and "frickin" on a nationally televised program and does it fairly consistently....Be a professional.
Can you find words that emphasize your points without using locker room talk? What if Reece Davis said "What the crap is frickin Northern Illinios doing in the Orange Bowl?"
Come on David...
"The (All In) Family"
I doubt he is on his A game... My wife and I stayed in the Georgia Dome after the final interview. We were sitting in front of the ESPN sideline desk. Pollack was utterly lifeless given his Bulldogs loss... understandably so. What a game!!! RTR
I would LMAO if Rece said that. I know it's not professional, but would be funny. I agree with your asessment.
Back in the day, I ran a 3.9 in the 20
He's doing/saying exactly what ESPN wants him to do. Play the fired-up foil to the befuddled Holtz and the calm and smooth Jesse Palmer.
He's the "street" guy on that set; frickin, crap, baller, etc. I wouldn't get all that fired up about it.
He's awful and stupid.
He hasn't been in broadcasting long. I find when former athletes take up broadcasting their first two years or so are terrible, then they get better.
He's legit. Oh wait, that's Matt Millen.
Pollack isn't a trained professional or anything.
He's a football player that got a job analyzing. He does a pretty good job too. I think he's pretty much spot on with his assessment of the Tide and has been all year.
I'd much rather listen to him than some blowhard trying to get ratings with hyperbolic statements, i.e. Brando, Holtz, etc.
I completely disagree. While he may say some stuff like that he doesn't use any vulgar words like corso/jaws/gruden have slipped. He's just a real dude that was very objective considering he played for UGA. Don't think it's that big of a deal. We are talking about football here, it's a man's sport and he brings that effect to the broadcast. I was very impressed that he picked the tide and analyzed the game unbiased.
Golly gee, Wally.
You guys are hilarious. Who do you think watches these shows. They have plenty of professional journalists like Rece and Fowler, etc. These other guys are "color" analysts. Their entire existence on the show depends upon them adding x's and o insight and color to a broadcast that would be rather boring and uninformative without them. That whole show was for entertainment purposes only. If all they wanted to do was tell us who was in the bowl games they would have shown us the list on Sportscenter.
I heard Pollack hates old people and dogs, just like Shooter McGavin. True story.
I remember when my mom quit making me watch Leave it to Beaver all because the Beav's mom scolded his dad for being a little to hard on the Beaver the night before ..... True story!
